Always best to measure.

It is very driver dependent, you are going to have to experiment.

Oh yeah , the smallies are allready starting to move up on the beds now . Oh god, ours normally don't move up for at least another month. Our season doesn't open until May 14th either Makes me want to come visit!

Sounds like it is going to be a great setup.

DCR is not impedance so I'd guess that yours are closer to 1 than .5, but either way.

Where and what tweeters are you using? I would think those AA's should play lower than 60, did you go that high because of over excursion?
-
Are your plans to use the "factory" measurements or re-do them yourselves?
-
I don't remember seeing those vids of the old ones going up in smoke.

Looks great. What are you using for a crossover?

House goes up on the MLS a week from today.

Go for the ported box, but maybe you don't need 32sqft of port area. That is the nearly free option.

i thought college was supposed to make us well-rounded people? spending all day crunching numbers and not learning about anything but that just sounds totally awesome to me That is why I have a Bachelors of Arts in Physics, lol!

On average people change jobs every 3 years for the first bit out of school. Don't worry too much about getting into the right field right away, but always keep your mind open and see where it takes you.

I'd spend the money on the Morel or Seas then and use just a 1st order crossover. It would allow you to upgrade the crossover later if you felt the necessity, but give you nice drivers to work with. The only other crossover pieces that you should add would be a zobel to knock out the tweeter impedance rise and perhaps an L-pad of sort to bring the levels of both drivers close.

I am still looking, but part of the answer is work for myself.

RS28's that are in the price realm of the Morel/Seas. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10663 I am scared of the Chinese Hi-Vi stuff, but I guess you'd only be out $20 if they bite.

You need to teach me that one.

8 inch diameter is okay though?

Our lakes broke open this weekend.
