Timbre should he is having major issues with his IP provider. Paid up but the site isn't back up.

Madisound had one pair left when I was there as well.

Sunny here....but not so warm. Don't need a jacket anymore though!

Hmm, if we define sub a bit differently. The Peerless XLS 8 has been known to be the best IB midbass in a car door, albeit very upper frequency limited. There is a huge following for it. It is listed as a sub, but in application in vehicles doesn't normally get used that way. Currently it is discontinued and there is no replacement. This driver was originally marketed as a subwoofer, but in auto applications was rarely used that way. Perhaps an XLS replacement would be a good thing to look into. If you could get it to play beyond 300hz it would be another bonus as well. A lot of people would like to run a 3 way front stage but use a dome midrange which can't extend that low. If on the flipside it had a dual purpose as an 8" sub that would make it attack a couple of markets. As for high frequency extension, this Aura is known to have a good response to 1k. Creating an 8 might really fill a niche. http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi...7818&pid=97 If you make this I will hack up my truck doors quickly to fit in a pair.

I gotta run to a customer site and pound the purchasing agent into giving me an order. I am supposed to start consulting there on Monday for all of next week and need to get paid if I am going to do it.

Good evening Adrian.

Can't find the good link that I have, but here is a start: http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/cat5questions_e.html

That is a Minneapolis zip. Pretty much the closest thing to a hood we have to.

It was all about small sealed volume for me. 0.4cuft on the Rli and it was easy to tuck anywhere. I think some might actually prefer some that were a little less power hungry as well. It would make a budget setup easier in that you could easily use a 4chn with the rear two channels powering a substage. Not that big of a concern to some of us that seem to collect amps, but for someone who is starting from scratch it would be helpful. The Rli8 laughs at 300w.

I have a set on the way here as well, but haven't heard them yet. On other sites they are regularly called the poor man's millenium which I have heard. The millenium tweet is outstanding and I wouldn't call it bright at all, even though it is very detailed. I would expect that Matt's mounting had some definite influence on their output but won't really be able to comment until I can listen to mine. I will let you know when I do. edit: from pure speculation I think that would be a great tweeter to start out with.

Funny to see a visionik sub and an IDQ going for about the same money. IDQ in a nicer enclosure as well
-
3 pairs and one single yesterday alone, but all of them in enclosures.

Speaking of: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1 I searched, but didn't find. My assumption is that all 8 chn are full range? I hope this doesn't take a ridiculous Ebay last minute bump.

*obviously needs to put more time into work*

I hit 10-12 pawn shops yesterday looking for a h/u. Not an active beast at any of them. No good amps either, but there are always IDQ's all over here at pawn shops. They are usually priced reasonable as well since they are sort of ugly beasts. The last few times I have been out there have been things I should have bought, but I am holding out for lots of channels in one case.

Trade/buy them. Give them another set of 12's to put in the enclosure and some cash. Their idea of quality is different than yours and you could probably end up getting a better deal that way anyways.

My post made it sound like I had a wood shop. By wood shop, I meant garage. Takes too friggin' long to clean mdf dust out of every nook and cranny to start anything right now. Plus the w would have my ass.
-
Just realized I've got extra mids laying around, but it isn't stopping me from shopping. For some reason I really have the itch to spend some money, but really should finish a couple projects first. Damnit house sell so I can move and have a wood shop again. I am almost tempted to buy some PE enclosures, but paying for enclosures makes me puke.

And it is a shame to cover up such a cheap driver.
