    Welcome to the IHoP

We went camping in weather like that last weekend with no latrines and in an area with a major fire ban since there are huge forest fires in N MN.

    what should i do first???

sounds like you made up your mind before asking. either way everything other than the deadener can easily be removed.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Basically a stiffer cone and copper rings on a CA18rnx which IMO is an outstanding value driver. When I met with the DIYMA guys they could not believe the midbass output I have I think the new Reed paper is a step closer to the Nextel as the motor is slightly improved over the standard RNX, but at hardly a price increase. The slight hump in the response will be easily tamed as well making it a natural for simple h/u active processing in a car. I am forecasting a boner over that driver. As for hearing it I haven't, but I do have to drive from Chicago to Mpls today which means I go right by Madisound

The hubs should be great, not a huge fan of the rims but again my info is a bit old. I'd point you towards forums, but have never been on any. Between 1994-1996 I rode my bike more than 10k miles and from 1998 on probably a total of 500 It hasn't been in the forefront of my interests since, but is gaining again quickly. My biggest problem was moving to Chicago which pretty much sucks for mt biking. (I have been hit by a car twice and can't say that I am a big fan of riding on pavement). What you are looking for in rims are quality hubs, machined blanks, and light weight. The lighter the reciprocating mass the better.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I bought all mine out of the local paper, but realize the last time I really rode my back it was 2000. My guess now would be fleabay and craigslist. Or of course bike forums. The beauty of pseudo high end bikes $1700 or so and under is that people buy them thinking it will be the last bike they own, but then after riding it for a short time realize there is a lighter option. They then liquidate either their parts of the whole bike and the resale on used stuff is usually less than 50% of the original selling price. If you buy right what you sell you can re-sell in two years for pretty much what you pay for it. It might require a little looking though. If you do find some, let me konw. All this talk of bikes has me itching to ride and perhaps upgrade to another bike.

    Plans for a 12" Mag

or sell it to me cheap The sealed volume sounds about right, but I don't think you "need" that much volume ported.

    SUV Choice

that is common as well as atrocious gas mileage

    what should i do first???

You should sell/get rid of the 6x9's and not replace them. Personally I'd spend your whole budget on deadening and your front stage, others may buy a sub first but spending all of your budget on something that only plays from 20-50hz or so is a bit silly when the rest of the audio spectrum then gets left behind.

Boo for the unfun stuff. I don't go to movies, even though I should as the w is starting to question why we need a home theater room in our next house.

    2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V: Project Spec-SQ

for camping. I might hop back out in my tent this weekend as well. Best time of the year for it if you ask me as the weather is nice and cool in the evenings. Heard an H701 install the other day and it was fantastic. Tons of options that really allow you to dial things in.

    mach 5 subs in room?

Floor. sorry dude, but i see where hes comin from, no way will rents let him cut 18 inch holes in the floor and dump substantial noise into the rest of the house. thats just obvious. lol. You don't need holes that big, you can mount them in a baffle and have the baffle fire into the house. Sort of a box upstairs with the bottom side facing down into the room. Mount the subs on the outside and you are set. Really common for IB installs.

Are your hubs worth a chit? You might be better off finding a complete used set of rims and hubs. By the time you change both you could easily have a couple hundred bucks into them. Look for a used pair from someone who is upgrading to even lighter stuff and as long as they are true they should be fine. I have bought and sold a lot of used rims in my time.

    Welcome to the IHoP

that's a lot of money. I need to get into the sport seriously before I spend that kind of money. it does look cool though. wasn't really a recommendation, but a superb bike. buying an older ti frame that has been ridden isn't always the best idea but a brand new old one is teh sweet.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Probably around $40-50. It takes a good hour to tension them right. They might do it in half that, but it will take you twice.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Okay, the guy that sold me the 8454 does not have the cage, trim ring, or removal tool. I found one on ebay for $29 but figured someone here might have a better idea. If he will give me the $29 back I will keep it otherwise it goes back *frustrated*. Anyone have any ideas??
