    LOokit my new tweetzorZ!!

While I like that tweet and haven't heard the cal 25 I really, really do not think it is fair to compare the two using some arbitrary bastardized passive crossover. I am not saying I don't want to hear your reaction but please do realize that your crossover is leaving an order of magnitude of potential improvement not being used. You really should start playing in the active world.

    Three-Way system in the future

I love it and hate it at the same time. Up front bass gives me wood, a beefy in 8 in the door excites me, but all that weight and potential energy really frightens me. Even swinging the extra weight on the hinges is spooky. I have so much deadening in my truck that the doors weigh a ton, I can't imagine putting a 25lb sub in them especially considering how much of a baffle and other extra weight would be needed. I don't think it is super feasible to do with that driver. I'd like a bit more frequency extension to allow a smaller mid. I wouldn't go 4 way front + sub by adding a Poly either.

    Is this true?

Exactly. A sine wave is smooth as it is a single fundamental frequency. A clipped signal is the fundamental frequency and some higher order harmonics. When you are badly clipping, the waveform becomes square because there are many higher order harmonics present. Just to give you an idea, if the fundamental frequency was 50Hz, then 100Hz would be the first order harmonic, 150Hz would be the second order, 200Hz the third order, etc. If you have enough of these present, you have a full on square wave, carrying a large amount of power under the curve (average power over time is substantially higher). If the speaker is capable of dissipating that average power, though, there is no damage done. It will simply sound terrible. I am always surprised how much clipping most peoples ears can tolerate and think is okay as well.

pushrods ain't thaaaat bad Look at how many people love the Ls series of motors and how long the chevy small-block has been playing with push rods. That's due to economics. GM hasn't been able to figure out how to mass-produce an OHC V8 cheap enough yet, and they won't make concessions that Ford has. You have stemmed my curiousity on the concessions you are referring to.

Ah, ok. Stupid idiots in Iowa couldn't install a 4chn amp in one shot and claim they are the top dealer. WTF?

    Welcome to the IHoP

Anybody have a software program that will make a slideshow with pictures? My buddy that got married in Mexico a couple months ago is having a reception and I want to put together all the pictures that I have collected from everybody into a show. My dad has Corel Snapfire, but its a non-cracked so I can't register it on my pc. I of course need it fast. Help!

need some creative ideas here for my room

could you help me think of some way to do this? It isn't that hard, but requires a bit more assembly skill. Here is a 90" port in a .65cuft box. Total box is >3 cuft and it is more than 2/3 port:

    Is this true?

Actually it isn't clipping the amp that kills it but exceeding the thermal limits of the subwoofer, caused when the sub sees too much average power.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Tom, anything you can throw at me suspension wise I'd be glad to read. It isn't the easiest thing in the world to search for... No real hurry, I won't have any fundage until we move but something like this is going to take some planning and I wouldn't be surprised if it takes me 6-12 months to find the shell I will turn into a car. The W did approve my project yesterday though
