Biggus Dickus makes EVERYTHING look small
-
Why did you change? WHy not V20?
-
Normally reading comprehension is taught in elementary school, think you need a refresher.
-
You need to think instead of read a regurgitate. Aux inputs are just fine when implemented right. USB by default should be identical to a CD. Both carry exactly the same digital information assuming you have any idea how to rip a CD. The home stereo analogy is apt here. Normally your CD player is separate from your pre-amplifier. The pre-amplifier has an "aux" in (usually labelled CD or the like) that you plug it into. Sounds terrible. Of course the USB or playing a CD direct would be analogous to using the digital transport into the pre-amp. So then the real question becomes where is the better d/a converter, in the pre-amp or in the cd player itself. The exact same can be said of car audio. Crutchfield is useful for looking up what is stock and what electrical adapter to buy, but for nothing else. That ship sailed 15 years ago.

Someone else changed the subject because you stated something wrong off topic. You do this in every frickin' thread you go in and never see what happens. It is REALLY simple. Here is an idiot proof summary for you. You: Altima is bigger than Maxima Someone else: No 99 > 89.3 so the Altima Coupe is smaller by your dumb spec than the Maxima This Is NOT this: We all realize you like to puff your comments and add some trivial fact you think is neat, but if you would stop throwing up out of context ones that have zero relevance and are incorrect it would help. I prefer to use WinISD, but it won't do all the math for you. The box layout is still completely up to you.
-
That was on my list as well, but I prefer the way the CTS-V drives. I've had a bunch of M cars and miss them all, but the new ones are just not BMW's.
-
I pissed at more than 600mph and 35,000 feet this past Saturday. Think that piss went further.
-
Leftover 16's are NOT going for $65k lol. The lame Vsport model is $59k, but that is not the CTS-V
-
So this is bigger than a Maxima? Even by your useless spec of cuft interior it is smaller.... The only relevant portion of the car that would be on topic for this thread is the trunk size...even then the OP HAS an Altima coupe, so how the discussion of anything else helps him we'd like to hear. Otherwise just stop typing in this thread. If you don't get this, perhaps forums are not for you.

Even with 12" height you can regularly fit a 15". You just need to tip the baffle at enough of an angle to make it fit. Obviously space hog and by no means am I recommending that for you, but wanted you to realize that the box doesn't need to be square. And since Mr Offtopic is again offtopic a quick clarification is in order...Using 3cuft of interior space as the differentiator claiming something larger is ridiculous. Could very well be way more wasted space somewhere, but either way it is completely irrelvant to helping cobrapg as he already owns a 2 door altima and just wants a box that fits.

It is ABSURD too btw. Both in price and performance. Thing is wicked quick and super fun to drive.
-
You fail at Google. CTS-V BASE price is $86,590. Loaded it is over $100k. This is without financing...I don't believe in financing cars. If you can't afford it don't buy it.* There is also no Premium package on them, just Luxury and Carbon Black. *obviously sub 2% financing I wouldn't even call financing, that is free money you can use for other stuff.

BJ is confusing things. The W6 is in my sisters boat along with some other leftovers I have. No complaints about it, never had any really. Glad I didn't pay retail however. The stealthbox and w1's however are a fricking joke. Will post pics later. Shockingly shitty for a $900 setup. Bad enough that even at $225 I don't feel satisfied. $ to value statement is craptastic. And you bastard, I wish I had a collection of Brahmas.
-
*just* is in the last 5 years.
-
You can't use your memory for comparison sake. Any playing with audio ought to have taught you that... I just sold 4 m amps. They were better than anything JL has ever built.
-
$95k is hard to swallow...I wouldn't with my money, but will let my company.
-
My solution will probably be to have them lease me a new CTS-V. Should fit the bill as a daily.
-
I would clarify that a bit more. Every company also wants to charge as much as they can. Obviously it has to be optimized to not exclude quantity, but the more the better as they then get to achieve their goal. Regrettably there is a blind faithful willing to support highway robbery in the car audio world and support companies like JL. It is great they have real engineering and do nice work, but they are way too proud of it.

Now don't misread like you like to and take what I said and misrepresent it. I did not say that a Dcon has more output and sounds better than a w6. Not even close to what I said....but of course making a sub sound good is rather easy so blowing a ridiculous wad on one is stupidity. I have a plethora of drivers to do what I like with here, but yet have chosen to put an Xcon in my boat. It isn't because I like Aaron and the board either. It is because of how the driver behaves in filling my needs.
-
Fake JL driver and Stealthbox, rofl. Either way, I know it isn't as I had to get a bracket from them. I'd love to see you highlight any fake JL sub that isn't an obvious fake. Happens a lot, sure.... As for the Southern thing, perhaps you mean prepubescent thing. Liking a brand instead of a product just exemplifies ignorance. I also would assume if you make such an outlandish statement that you have done a blind listening test with the SSA vs the JL's...but I know you so I am sure it is just heresy.

I don't want to put miles on a personal car when my gas and everything is free on my other. Work will lease me something and then I want to put miles on that. If my kids fit in the back seat I'd grab a Shelby in a heartbeat....or if Ford got smart and made it in a 4 door ala Falcon from Australia but based on the new stang.

I should have read ahead, of course Aaron answered on the upcoming tweeters. The Kappa mids and tweeters are a joke. The Evil mids will SMOKE them in every aspect. As for tweeters, again same answer as before. Things that are important: -size -dome preference/things you've liked in the past -mounting location and aiming -flexibility of your crossover Knowing those things it is easy to have us help narrow down a tweeter choice. There is currently a severe lack of small format tweeters with balls to dig deep. You are either budget restricted with a Scan D2904 (love mine) or you have options that handcuff the response that are cheaper, Seas Neo etc. If you can fit a larger format this opens up, or of course if you don't need the tweeter to dig that deep which depending on how you mount the Evils could be acceptable as well.
-
They will mate with a ton of tweeters. I would avoid ones from a component set as they are all lackluster. Instead figure out the largest thing you can fit and a budget and we can help you pick some. I know the SSA ones are coming if you wait, but there are literally tons of options if you can't.
