    Box Bracing

Vibrations are gonna happen . Do you actually see the sides of the enclosure flexing ? Actually flexing = vibration just at an amplitude that is higher. The less you feel the better. Of course, I like my enclosures as dead as possible.

Huge difference between hands on and an engineer. Most are actually a bit funny when it comes to doing things, the real trick when you can do both is to not get stuck in the world of you doing it all. Engineers are just supposed to plan, technicians do all the work. Some engineers like to build stuff Indeed, but I was outlining the average. Obviously the ones on forums like this one are a bit more hands-on than normal. Actually out of my customers (which are nearly all engineers, including a ton of PhD's) mostly the ones from small towns like to build things. The city slickers are more into planning and not doing.

Opinions on this Peerless 3-way setup

With such little power, I like the 10" XLS sol'n since sensitivity won't really matter in your case. The 8" Exclusive would look better. I haven't heard either of those drivers though. IMO Exclusive > Poly, but again the last three drivers on your list I haven't heard.
  23. Nice, perhaps a sale is in order for your friend.

You need to get them away from the walls and ceilings which is going to be really tough in your room. Room treatments are also nearly mandatory with them. Stereo subs is never a bad idea either. In your less than optimal room and placement I'd try to have them as on axis as possible.
