Okay, but you know what I meant.

I personally haven't played with a Cal27, but thought I understood they had much more down low. Any idea what the Fs is?

You will never guess which one of my inlaws is getting the first one in MN That car might make me not want a muscle car. Aaargh!!

It wouldn't be unusual for all of a sudden your stage to come together and everything to just get better. Personally I have NEVER owned a vehicle where I run all drivers in phase, one always sounds better switched, sometimes two. You never know. The only way to find out is to switch them all. I would encourage you to go back to flat with no t/a when doing this as it should be done first. I then recheck every phase position after implementing t/a. (Consider your dual mids one driver though even though that can create a mess as well).

Tweed away!! Ensolite will be your friend. As for the 2.2kHz, I'd like to see lower but it may sound perfect. I thought the Cal27 could take a bit more on the low end than that.

I agree, my settings got changed daily for almost three months straight. You can't imagine how annoying that would be if I had to pull over and pop the trunk everytime. Just running back and forth from the trunk to the car to listen is annoying. I really like up front controls.

It will make absolutely no difference in what you hear. Not even close.

What if due to PLD that the majority of the frequencies that you were playing through your tweeters were out of phase? I try every combination of phase possible with all my drivers, it is the first step in tuning.

You are trying to make me jealous.

I have no idea, but if no one is able to help let me know and I will call one of the engineers at 3M's cat engineering center for you.

LOoks great Matt. Personally I don't like polished engines so eff it and get her running . Functional and clean is all that is necessary.
-
Umm, no its not. Regrettably son you have just built a box that will be better suited to start a fire than hold subs. You need to go back and buy MDF.
-
Huffing that stuff has become an expensive habit for you.
-
You just do a design based on nominal driver values?

Oh, sorry to hear that but definitely be glad he is there. It is amazing what a good hospital can do, living next to the Mayo I hear amazing recovery stories all the time. We are pullin' for the little guy!!

How much lower do you think they could go? They are damn near at manufacturing costs which is exclusively why they are so cheap compared to everything else on the market. IMO M5 should raise their prices by about 30% just to put something in Mark's pocket. He is going about this way too nice to all of us. I will apologize if by multiples you mean 100+ drivers as then I imagine something small could be done for you.

And only then if the tweeter and midrange are very close to each other.
-
Oh, forgot to add since you used the word "best". Best for what?

With your budget and desire I would ONLY run a DIY set. Buying anything off the shelf would be a waste. Now the next question is what do you have for processing to do this. If the $1000 has to include a crossover and another 2chn of amplification we need to know. Also, where does deadening fit in your budget? No deadening and $10000 speakers will sound worse than the $225 drivers and deadening in my truck guaranteed. Install is really, really important. I would also highly agree with Jim. What have you heard that you like??

/\ they have pretty much everything. It is way faster usually to surf through their catalog than use the web. The world needs more stores like it.
