Instant open garage door?
-
Not surprised about that either, but I gotta say I appreciated both Pootie Tang and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. They sort of fill the same spot in my book.

Pootie tang? Wa Da Tah, my brotha, Wa Da Tah. Such a horrible movie but Louis CK is still the man. I actually enjoyed the movie, multiple times no less. but of course maybe that comes with being low-down & dirty

Shit, can you re-PM where I should call you. For some reason my dumb ass deleted it without putting you in the crackberry.

Using MAW-10's For a three way tower speaker
///M5 replied to BiNarY's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
That is really high to run a subwoofer. I agree with mark as well in that you should focus on the 100+ range for the goal you have in mind. -
That was a crazy ending, that is for sure.

question about safety of running a SAZ1500 at .5 ohm
///M5 replied to eclipsepb25's topic in Sundown Audio
Considering your usage I wouldn't buy that sub, nor run the amp at .5ohm. You aren't doing burps and should really give that sub as much as it can take or get a different one. Also, running the amp that "hot" for a daily isn't the best choice. -
To get louder and maintain a nice response it usually means cone area, luckily the Inf are neither loud nor good sounding. A 15" Q would be a huge upgrade, but won't be the loudest driver you listed. As for the 15 on a 17" box with 1" walls, it will fit but you could also surely slant the front wall to gain an inch or so.

Vibration is more exciting than acoustics. In acoustics you "get" to measure Sound Power all day, where typically the troubleshooting and fun comes in the Vibe world. Related they are, but OSHA drives acoustic response and Vibe drives building a quieter, better sounding product.

Just have to work for a company that designs and builds something. Perhaps put a focus on medical applications as the medical device market may be the only industry that is still running crazy strong in the US.

Sounds like a hobby unless you go to work for JBL, Harman etc..

Since I don't know you all I thought I'd pop in here and welcome you all to SSA. I too am another MN'tan.

Sorry the 12 in the first post I read as a 2. As for your question on the loudness, that will entirely depend on the on the install. It should have the capability too, but if you don't put it in a worthy enclosure and supply it with a nice happy signal it may not be.
-
You keep using upgrade but haven't described what you don't like about your current setup. Everything is relative... So until you explain what you don't like about what you currently have a big what do you mean is all we can ask. After 5 posts we get that you want it louder, is that all? If so, all of the above will do that.

Just treat them like any automotive driver and you will be fine. In my car I have a whopping 55wx4 (@4) running to some 8ohm mids and they still get down and boogie. In the truck they are getting 150wx4 (@4) and are a step better, but either way you don't need anymore than you would with a 4ohm driver. In fact regularly less and you will be fine. note: I purposely didn't make up any 8 ohm numbers

This game is nuts. Gotta love the last second Shannahan ice. Can he do it twice??
-
Do the 4 10's...
-
4 10's 4 * 5 * 5 * 3.14 = 314 2 15's 2 * 7.5 * 7.5 * 3.15 = 353

?? I feel like repeating my previous comment.

Nice work!! Thanks for posting up the pics!

20hp peak is a bit different than 20hp across the power band. Hell I'd take 5hp across the band versus 20hp peak. Citing numbers doesn't mean a lot. The mod Fords actually have a lot left in them. As for the alts, holy hell Steve. Even though it ain't my thing, big props mang!
