Jeez, thanks for making me feel old.
-
LOL, for around 20sqin of port you would need a port near 170" long.
-
I like your Polks better than those Alpines.

While you can go with a smaller diameter, it really won't solve the problem I described. For instance, my Rli8 in .64cuft (which would have a shorter port for the same tuning frequency than in a .45cuft box) is nearly 3.5cuft on the outside of the box to house the port. Porting a small enclosure is not a beginner maneuver in the world of audio.

Hopefully I will like Arizonians better. We shall see next week

I would buy the Nextels for a car and not the Excels, but if you are referring to midrange clarity and detail yes they are WAY better. The L's smoke the CA's in that realm as well. The disadvantage of the Excels in general is playing above 1200hz, the L's really aren't much better though requiring a large format tweeter that can play low. To fit your budget I wouldn't hesitate to go with the L's and match them up with the Peerless HDS tweeter. Would be a killer setup that fits in your budget. The next step up dollar wise I'd say would be the Nextels. The Rev's won't give you the detail of either of those Seas. If you were willing to give up a little midbass the Peerless Exclusive is also a great sounding driver.

Actually there are two coils. You can apply energy through either one of them and when you do they move through the magnetic field of the driver. Of course you could apply voltage to either one and have a response. In reality you should always make sure that they are completely balanced or just use one if you want a different response from your driver. As for the psychoacoutics of that processor, it is a joke and not applicable to subs anyways. It is meant to allow small speakers play perceived frequencies that they just cannot do. A mildly trained ear however will expose it easily as it is really something geared towards tone deaf people who have no interest in music.

That and as soon as the weather gets mildly inclement they hide. I am staying right in Laguna Beach and it is deserted since it is maybe 50-60 degrees. The bars on the lake where I am from will still have women in them. I despise Californians...if you can't tell.
-
No, its because they suck down here. Stupid, money grubbing, selfish, pompous, beyotches.
-
appearance wise, the female selection is quite good in Cali, unfortunately, they're usually dumb as rocks far different from Kansas farm area, I'm sure The females are complete crap out here compared to MN.
-
Can you fit a large format tweeter? The L18 will have more "detail" than the CA18, but has one heck of a cone mode breakup in the upper register making it very unusable with that LPG.
-
It would be okay as long as the "tube" was large enough to not create a flow issue.
-
Depends on your goals. 39hz will have more output, but I personally couldn't handle listening to it.
-
Smaller until you add the port volume. You are going to need a hell of a long port that will require a funky configuration to do it. The sub will perform well in either type though. An Rlp 12" ported fits in a smaller box than the 10 once you add the port...

And they only care about one thing here. Fuckin' gold diggers.
-
You have a completely incorrect view of California. There are more viable women in KS.
-
I don't think it'll be too bad except for Thermo2 and 8:40AM classes I actually thought it looked pretty easy. Mostly logical shit.

3 for me, I am in Cali

I am friggin' beat. Packing SUCKS!

that is as fun to type as it is to say
