audio control 3.1
///M5 replied to jmenace's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ah, that is one valid use. Active can be better than passive but not overnight and not the first time you plug things in. Expect it to be worse at first but the more you nail your tuning skills down the better it will be. Considering it is your first crack at it I would highly, highly encourage you to stick with a 2 way. I know you said you won't want to do something and then change it later, but the beauty of active is it is super easy to swap out drivers and I pretty much guarantee if you go that route you will change things up. In fact, I'd encourage you to buy used drivers first and plan on changing them once you figure it all out. -
There have to be a ton of them in yards, even just in the little piggy mobiles alone. Easy enough to change the color, I'd say whack away at the stock ones and look for some replacements if you want to sell. H

Yes....another amp noise problem

*just remembered you are using a LOC. unplug the rca's from the loc and see if the noise goes away. If it does it is LOC or upstream. I would reground the LOC as well and see if that helps, a temporary ground straight to the battery would tell you. If it is neither of those, unplug the speaker leads from the LOC and see if it is generating the noise on its own. -

It is either your headunit or rca's. Most likely the headunit and most likely it has a shit ground. -

No worries on the questions. Not quite sure I understand why you are comparing 3 way active to 2 way passive though. If you haven't ever done an active setup you really, really should start with a 2 way first. I am still curious as to what use the 3.1 even has, to me it does nothing positive but obviously you got it from someone who thought it did. What did they use it for? -
Ya, not planning on adding an stereo in this one. The JBL system sounds incredible for a factory set-up. I'm still blown away by it. And I did notice that "IPOD" jack, lol rofl

what exactly would you use it for. I agree with Jim, two sets of components is teh bad. -
Oh and just so you know, you can't hear 20hz I'd bet anyways

My stomach turns sour thinking about any Hifonics anything. As for your question on the drivers and the ratio of SQ to SPL, it is really 100% box dependent; however, I will add that if you think the Type R's sound okay you are going to be more than happy with the BL. They are worlds better than what you currently have.

Much better...some of us even prefer that way lower. Mine is at 40hz & 50hz, but I expect if you go that low you will feel a little left out in the bass department unless you significantly upgraded your fronts.

It really doesn't do anything beneficial. -
lawl is she bangable? ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah for sure. what are you complaining about then? Hit that chit raw, then pull out and pee on her leg. well she decides to tell me this AFTER she gets a boyfriend. :( obviously she doesn't really like him, a boyfriend barrier is a challenge. Not like you are ruining someones marriage, just hurting some poor chaps feelings. And considering how well I know him, FUCK him.

I was against the idea before until sitting in his car. Personally I think I'd still move it up into the pillar in the Imp though.
-
Peerless HDS is what I would pair with those.
-
hey we are related
-
I could tell and of course not from here.
-
And how long is she going to keep this one, lol.
-
Can't help with such little details mang.

sounds fun Cali freeways have been fun from my experience too, just going along with traffic at about 90... Except for people really can't drive in CA.
-
Even though in a city it helps to be high up, perfect place for an SRT 8 jeep
-
Chicago is actually really fun to drive in. Lots of lanes and regularly traffic will be going 85+. They don't really police it for speeding and allow or almost encourage you to drive aggressive.
-
neither, they are unrelated. You need NET box volume (aka subtract the sub and port size from it) and then you need port area to compute the length of the port. If that doesn't clear it up you need to try to ask the question with more detail since we obviously don't quite get what you don't understand.
-
In that car I'd fire it backwards.
-
that actually doesn't help either
