Nice. Making me thirsty
-
You need 4 channels to run active... Ignore the ohms on mids. I always run 8 ohm mids. The way you choose a sub/amp is way different than front stage.
-
Should clarify, early Miles is fine. As his chops grew so did the distance from easy listening.
-
Should be able to sell the Hex's to pay for the difference in amplifiers. The DC Ref's will hold their value far better than any other modern Zap.
-
External, internal, amp, headunit, processor....all the same in what they could possibly do. Specific capability is of course related to each specific unit. You reference wanting to buy Zapco. The DC Ref series amplifiers have plenty of DSP to replace nearly any passive (assuming 1 channel per driver of course). The disadvantage of this style crossover is you need a front end/PC or what not to control them. ie, you aren't driving and making changes. While doing what I just wrote at the same time isn't logical for your safety or others, being able to tinker as you think of what you want to tinker on is worth its weight in gold in the learning process. Sure it is completely unnecessary, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be the best money you could have ever spent on car audio. Learning is priceless though. That all being said, I love those amps. Could easily run them. Will do what is needed. I am a nut though. I NEED control. So much so my cure was to just repalce my headunit with a computer. No need to bring one with and plug it in anymore

Seriously can that be right? Andrew Zimmern normally isn't wrong.

Yikes. Danes eat 332lbs of pork per year.
-
Of course I also understand if 99% of you reading this think Miles gives you a headache if you listen to him.
-
It is funny to see the added complexity, but then you look at someone like Miles Davis who purposely plays things that are definitely not in the key just for that purpose while also doing the same rhythmic manuvers....and then realize he is doing it improve and can just make shit up like that in real time ANYTIME.

Ha, sorry. DSP. Stupid phone auto correct.
-
I think it explained more why most hip hop is useless. If it all followed the breakdown she gave, I'd listen to more of it
-
That makes me wish I had more free time again.

Dying to see where you aim/fire those. The Fountek's will surprise you if you can get them on axis. Pretty killer response all on their own. Definitely better than the L4 in that regard.

You will make me want to pull out a real amp. I am using a little $20 class T amp, lol
-
I have some el cheapo monitor mounts that I bolted mine too
-
Have you experimented with height yet? The sweet spot is finicky...

Ha. I am a huge fan of nearfield listening. I'd like to hear those JBL's... Can't tell you how many times in my life I almost sold the true sub, but the use in the office is perfect.

Matt - where are we shopping this week?

Alclair

You already buy? What?
-
Me neither, lol. Probably scared of something I need not be, but I am not a fan of leaving control open.
-
I am probably paranoid, but I don't like leaving Teamviewer running in the background either.
-
Sharemouse/Litemanager/InputDirector I assume aren't as smooth as just an RDP?
-
I've used Teamviewer, but it annoys me lag wise.

Anyone know of a good KVM or virtual KVM solution? Don't need it for major control, but would prefer to use my office for picture editing and lightroom is on the other computer. Also prefer the PC control of the whole house audio to the phone and my office pc is on my lap right now. Can be wired, prefer wireless but not if it has lag as I have to use the mouse a bit while editing. Home pc will be >20' from my office pc. If I pull a 20' USB-C and add a USV-C card to the home pc, my docking station for the office pc will do what I need. Currently I only see 10'ers and wonder if that amount of data load will go that far. Near 4k and all other peripherals.
