Sorry, I know that was terse...but the crossovers you have suck and are designed for different drivers. They are the LAST thing you want to re-use. If my explanation wasn't clear, ask.
-
Fundamentally for a crossover design to be worth a shit, it HAS to be designed based on measurements from the final install locations/box etc. In other words, car audio sets are fuxored from the beginning as they use a generic crossover and allow you to change the mounting parameters of the raw drivers. It is SUPER easy to make a crossover better than what they provide with any car audio set. The crossover needs to take into account not only teeny differences in parameters but also the surroundings. The HEX crossovers do neither. Add to that you are now talking about swapping out a driver with a completely different impedance curve. What this means is that your crossover points will be completely different and any tapering of the response of the driver that was put into the crossovers originally will be doing the opposite of what you want. Nothing in the HEX set is worth saving. Sell them as a set for the biggest return on the "investment" you have in them.

Sure, thanks.

Any DSLR mic recommendations? Shooting family and kids, not concerts.

If you are running 2chn only I don't see the value in video period. As long as the monitor/tv you are using has an analog or digital audio out I'd save the dough and buy used. Future proof yourself, but being frugal and spending the money on the future when you need it.

We don't have snow anymore either...although I saw more of it in April than I did ALL WINTER. FUCK YOU atmosphere!

Indeed, I'd measure first to be sure. Dual 10's or a single 12 is a better choice...

Depends on the box. What space are you working with?

mil spec tested does not mean the others aren't. Seems to me HP built a consumer machine, tested it on a shaker and sold it as a business machine. Sure they added an HDMI port as well, but yikes at double the price. I hate the thinkpads...

A $300 computer would fail on me in a matter of months. I use it around 18 hours a day and it goes everywhere.

Ruggedized industrial laptops are super expensive. A cheap disposable one would be my choice. For instance, the HP x360 Spectre (v2) is ~$1000 with a 1TB SSD, the Elite (business and MIL spec tested) of the exact same computer is $2500. I have the cheaper one, lol.

I miss my ML63...but not the repairs it needed all the time. I beat the piss out of it however. Eager to see more

My wife hits ALL of them. Only 50 series or taller for her. One of the reasons I didn't try harder to get the sport package on her "truck"

Hockey is over (for MN) so I turn to champions league

Yep. Just as I stated before, that box is not doing you anything positive. A very simple replacement will give you nice gains. Don't wait until you buy new drivers.

Although with feeds like that I could even score.
