In fact I can finally call my snowmobile complete. I am sure it will change again, but I currently have nothing on it that I want to change/improve.
-
Also jealous a project is happening. I've been way more efficient the past week. Feels good to get shit done.
-
Jealous... ....though not sure why. All the subs in my house are turned down and really never stressed. Sealed ML 12" in the small tv room, Ported Kicker L7 in the garage, True Sub in my office. Basement theater will get something when the theater finally gets built. Only will have to keep up with some old Definitive bipolar towers I have.
-
Two fold goal: Remove as many primary panel resonances in the frequency range the sub will excite. Other aspect is to ensure no standing waves inside the enclosure that are in the frequency range the sub excites. Two ways to achieve that: Have $200k+ of gear and time or overbuild the shit out of it.

Home audio = 10x the bracing of car audio. The goal is to have the least number of similar spaces. Everything uneven is perfect. The expensive way is to cut out holes of sheets. Also probably the most effective.

I like the Rab's. https://rab.equipment/us/mens/waterproof/latok-jacket-1

The tekvest does provide some warmth though as it is a layer. Mine is vented, but without it I would get cold fast AND feel naked.
-
Last Tuesday riding in 100below windchill that is all I wore...+ a tekvest.
-
The down layers for me are for going from the house to the grocery store, etc. Not anything where I will get my heart rate up beyond sitting level. Once I do that I am a Merino wool baselayer, polar fleece on top and if necessary (ie super shit cold) a vented shell on top of that.
-
I rarely wear a shell though. The down liner is my goto.
-
I also have a rain shell. Of course my snow stuff has the mating cologne of a true redneck so wearing it out causes the ladies to flock to me. Due to this I usually only wear it for power sports or serious snow play. Mmmm, 2 stroke smoke!

Hoods SUCK on a snowmobile. Whip around. Created a problem for more regular use.
-
Bet my sis is loving being at this game.

Motofist shit is bomb proof. Klim doesn't suck eeither
-
Even in those temps my boots were WET on the inside at the end of the day. Not because of snow but sweat. eVent is my friend, you can see the sweat steam off my legs regularly. Of course it is on riding gear, but even for snow events with the kids my MotoFist stuff comes out.

Still managed nearly 200mi

Rode in the nastiest conditions of my life this week. -26F + 55mph winds + 80mph in a different direction. My dumbass didn't close the vents on my jacket/pants from the day before. 40mi in I was a fucking ice cube. I wear a rain proof shell, a polartec 100 layer, my vented tekvest, and a wool long sleeve undershirt. Opening the vents on the shell was bone chilling. My helmet consists of 2mm of neoprene near my mouth and running spandex on my head. Add some goggles and a motorcross helmet and that is all I have. I have NEVER been cold before, but fuck me this was nasty.

Your luck with buying cars extends ridiculously far into ownership. ...of course I did just spend $450 on pistons and seals for my brakes. Wilwood can blow a dick.
-
I am a sweaty bitch and the eVent breathes!
-
I love my eVent stuff

Fit and material > brand. Stop in at Midwest mountaineering and see what They have
-
The arc may be cut not so good for you. They are cut for my build minus 1" I'm the arms.
-
Good. Just wanted to make Sure as that story almost screamed bender
-
Hell anything goretex or even better eVent is fine.
