If the Kia had a similarly nice interior, could tow my boat >7000lbs, had enough space for car seats and my "short" ass to sit in front of them, had similar power, and wouldn't break ever month then it would surely be in the running. Not so sure I'd say that Mercedes has better reliability than the Kia. As for creature comforts, I could do with less computers and more old fashioned controls.

What EGT are you looking at? I've got a dual Koso on the IQr.

Its all bull shit anyways. My brother is into body building and lifts a shit ton of weight, but has no real strength. His punches are weak, he can't loosen a stubborn bolt, and when we wrestle, I simply whip his ass. He's got 40lbs on me and it's all muscle and still doesn't have the strength I have. A true body builder really does work out just to gain the muscle and there are plenty of ways to gain it without gaining actual strength Which is fucking stupid. The amount of small penis's in the world is unbelievable. Not sure why they care so much what they look like, but instead should focus on how they feel. And believe me, that will help more with women than some fake muscle bullshit. Insecurity is a bitch. Hell look at the Anthole, rofl. Well its got similarities to the people who have the Porsche/BMW/Mercedes or the big SUV, flashy jewelery, etc. They have a quest to 'compensate' for a shortcoming some place else. Mommy didn't love me, I have no coordination, I am a fucking moron on anything else, small dick, etc. I know in the case of some of the guys I work around, they were 300+lbs in school and consistently made fun of. They lost the fat by getting in the gym, stuck with it because it made them feel good physically and mentally. Now some people do get TRULY obsessed like with any other 'hobby' or 'sport'. And those people are the EXCEPTION not the rule. I will say this, just like building a World Record SPL or SQ car, a car to win a race in NASCAR or some other racing circuit, or maybe even to be a high jumping Olympian it takes a SHIT TON of dedication and 10x more willpower. Now that being said, some of these 'body builders' are fucking shit heads. Complete and utter self centered, self obsessed douche bags who wouldn't help their little brother learn a thing much less anyone else. Again, we are talking about the exception not the rule. Personally I enjoy hitting the gym when I have the time. Lately I have had little to no time to get in there especially with a hernia and a shittastic knee; and a wife who hates not having someone to vent to immediately after work. I gotta start back in there cause I am getting 'tubby' and that will not fly in my line of work. J Pretty much agree...with the caveat on the cars being a bit different. I drive a Mercedes. Not because I give a rats ass that it is a Mercedes, but I wanted the best crossover vehicle (drives like a car, pulls a trailer) that would be the least of a compromise. Most people buy things for status. That is pathetic, buying anything extreme for actual use is a completely different situation.

Not with our next house, we are doing shit right the fuck away.

I am, which explains why I didn't sound deaden the shit out of the HT room. Going to finish a few projects and make it $$. I'll have less than $1.5k into the HT room and it adds 400sq ft to the house. It'll put us up near 5000 and have a dedicated room for pretty much everyone. 5 bedrooms, workout room, billiards room, home theater/kids play room, storage room, two living rooms, sun room, dining room, big eat in kitchen. Stereo and automated lights run to it all. Partly going to suck to leave, but if it allows me to buy lake front I'm happy. Little investment for a larger return! Great idea! Doing the kitchen floor, some landscaping, replacing all the light switches, painting a bunch and so on. ALL SHIT I should have done right away. Figures.

Looking for a replacement tweeter for MD102
///M5 replied to Sir-Lancelot's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I'm actually rather impressed with the component selection....and it looks like they didn't do anything funny, but without seeing the complete signal path it is pretty hard to tell. What you propose without any knowledge or measurements is a bit of a crapshoot. You need the same nominal impedance to make the crossover point the same, but you may find that the tweeter you choose is more or less sensitive as well. Hopefully it'd be more and you could just add an Lpad to take it down a notch, but if it's less you'd have to pad the other two speakers. Or of course if you had enough eq you could maybe do this by cutting the louder drivers...but again it's all compromises. I don't believe that driver is anything off the shelf either as Dyn usually "designs" their own. Using quotes as modifying a current design is possible as well. You have one good tweeter. If you measured the full impedance curve then even if there is a zobel you might find a driver that is rather similar. This may not cure your bright enough problem though. Last option. Run the system in 2 way active mode. ie, get an amplifier with a highpass circuit and run the tweeters you choose off that and the rest of the component set as is. This may be the cheapest and easiest route and also the most cost effective way for you to regain control of the brightness you are looking for. -
Good to hear!! I hate seeing such a good product line disturbed by the misinformed greed of a previous terrible owner. It's sad too since many others told him it would fail before he had it made and even more sad that he still argues that it is a good idea. I have nothing but positive to say about the SS product line of course except the step child AD.

Thoughts on Image Dynamics (ID-max) Subs???
///M5 replied to snowy8171's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I think the IDMax is overpriced. Add to that I don't think it's the category of sub you want. Your ONLY reference to SQ is the term itself, but you disregard its meaning and just add sound good. I'd bet even a rather SPL oriented driver would have more than enough quality for what you are after. This confusion is exactly why Fi built the Q...although 95% of buyers of the Q should have bought a BL (if they were only buying Fi). There are a ton of good options. I'd rather have a driver from here than an IDMax anyday if I were you. -
Looking good. Hope your hinges don't hate you

Solution for people having problems with WinISD not working
///M5 replied to dbsupra's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
And an aside. As with any modeling software using the default enclosure is nearly always a mistake. Playing to determine what you need on the other hand is the sole reason to actually use the software....otherwise the rest can be done by hand. -

So are a lot of manufacturers published specifications -
I don't have dado's....but have a router installed on my table saw so that is no problem. What I didn't follow was it sounded like a double rabbet was being recommended. I thought double rabbet also until the latest sketch up. I dont think he'll need any rabbets given the PVC's natural spring to roll in on itself once he cuts it. I dont think a rabbet joint is needed either. IF anything I would leave a tab in the middle of the PVC and do a mortise and tenon in the middle. Would lock together like Lego's! Love it, completely hadn't thought about doing that. I would think you could plunge cut in the middle and from the ends and leave two tabs. Something like this? Not to scale, but I wanted to translate your recommendation. The rear wall of the 10 would look like the front wall of the 8 so that would be rigid. The 8 would also have a face in the rear to attach to, but it'll be hidden. The 10 is then attached via the mortise & tenon and rear face. Obviously I'll add wood strips to hide the recesses but then the visualization wouldn't work

Almost sounds like my diet...except I don't run from grain. I love bread and pasta and have no issues with them. I am not trying to lose or gain though, just eat healthy and yummy. Did I mention yummy? Oh, and fuck salmon. It's the chicken of the sea. And yes I avoid eating chicken, it's a fucking nasty animal. Any protein you have to cook to 170F cannot be good. I know you don't have to cook salmon that much but ANY cooking on a salmon and it's ruined. Raw or bust.

Yes. Way less stress. In the gym 2 times a day sometimes. Lots of hot tub sets! Hot tub sets ? Yes after many lifting sets, I go sit in the hot tub. I call this hot tub sets. Makes sense now. Congrats on the progress I'm not progressing as fast on weight but strength is definitely going up He's lying. He bench presses me sitting in a hot tub on weekends. We keep his wife in the kitchen in shit while it's happening.

The coffered ceiling looks good!! As do the can lights. Funn Funn Thanks, the coffered ceiling hides the HVAC and will have 12 little mini- can lights pointing at the wall. I'm going try to cut those out tomorrow, but I don't want to get in the way of the taper. Hired the damn taping out completely so I don't fucking waste 10gal of mud/

Looking for a replacement tweeter for MD102
///M5 replied to Sir-Lancelot's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Can you measure the response of either the high pass or the t/s of the tweeter you are replacing? I would completely ignore Dyn's specs on what they "claim" the crossover is as I'd doubt it. Also curious if it seems to share any components with the Mid or LP? If not, you could replace the HP portoin of the crosover as well. -
New "SQL" system for a metalhead - Right direction?
///M5 replied to pascalc's topic in General Audio
Others have nailed it so far. Two limitations left to battle. How low can the tweeter play and how deep can the 8" driver be. The lower the tweeter plays the more freedom we have with the mid. I'm also curious if you are a bass guitar head or if its the rest of the band that gets you going. -
I'm beat, making headway. Mostly new electrical pulled, walls up, HVAC re-routed, and a thousand other oh shit forgot that things done. Insulating and sheetrocking tomorrow after I pull out the 14/2 I pulled to the outlets and replace with 12/3. 20A circuit for the theater room...
