I just feel that Incriminator Audio deserves some feedback on my recent purchase. On March 4th i sent Nick a payment around 8 am for 4-18" DP recones (that had to be built) and a used DP motor. On March 8th, Those MOFOs were already on my front porch!!! A+ customer service right there guys!!!

He may be talking about SPL which is a brand or series, let me see what i can find. There are some Pawn shops here that sell them. Entry level stuff i believe. here we go... http://www.splusa.net/AMP_GORILLA.html I would say a Death Row would do great with this amp. If you ever plan to upgrade your amp to bigger or better, a Death Penalty may be in order.

How big is your port? How long?

It was nice to Meet you Nick and David @ Finals. Sorry the truck didnt hold up for a big #. Live and learn on my end. Atleast David got a demo of the truck before i had more problems. David, you are like a Robot when you recone woofers bro. I will be getting ahold of you guys shortly for recones. Here is a pic of 2 of the coils .. NOTE NOTE, these are my fault, Very effecient 6th order but it would not allow the woofers to cool as needed. Doubling the power did not help much except add alot of un wanted heat. The 2nd pic was reading 304 ohms.. LOL Before everything let go, I was street beating a 156.7 Live in learn, new enclosure design to come. Also, new shirts are nice as hell. Aaron Hanselman

about 4500 rms each DP 18". Problem was the rear chamber was small with little port area and just would not allow these to cool. I had them in a typical wall ported and they took the power just fine. So i would assume that the enclosure was the cause of the failure. Like i said, this was a StreetBeat run for 30 seconds and they gave up at around 22 sec.. this was also at 43Hz.

I think you are asking for trouble since you have stipulated that you want to compete and daily drive/ground pound with the setup. The DP is a helluva woofer, but 3500 watts RMS is pushing your luck. 1 amp on both subs would be more than sufficient. The DP's do not require that much power to rip your head off. If you keep with this plan, I would shrink the Net Vol to around 6 cubes so you can at least attempt to exercise some control over cone movement, otherwise you'll be getting recones in very short order. Ok, sweet... that's what I was wondering.... How you think it would hold up with 2x SAZ-2000D's? 2,000 rms shouldn't be too bad, right? Now, it's not like I'm gonna ride everywhere, just slammin' 15's to the back of my head at full volume,lol.... I personally like your 6 cube idea better ... It gives me more space to play with in my lil Teggy too.... I appreciate the info sir!!! Cheers i think you should just get one 4 k amp for the pair ... 3 1/2 cubes per sub tunned to 35 hz I think the 2 3500s will be ok as long as you keep the signal clean. Runing that amp @ 1ohm with voltage drop and impedance rise you are probably closer to 2500-2800 watts each. If kept clean and just be smart about how much abuse you give them, i think things will be good. I had a 5kw on a pair of DP 18s and am now putting 2 - 2kws on each woofer. 8- DB drive Pd2000s @ .5ohm. I will be able to give you a better answer in about 2 days.. I would say if you have the cash to do it. get both amps and just be careful.

Are there anyone running 18 in Death Penalties in a street application
SBranger replied to stacy1's topic in Incriminator Audio
I am running 4 DP 18"s in my ford ranger. Tuned at 31 Hz Peaks at 43Hz with 2 RD Audio D9s i am burping a 157.5 outlaw and just found out i have an open coil on one sub, so i dont know if it was bad when i burped the truck last. Nick or David... I need a recone.. LOL -
OK, guys. I have a about one more sub to sell and i am getting my first IA subs. Here is what i have. I am going to put about 10kw total . ( i will leave the brand out to avoid the drama of what amp is louder and if they really do that power. ) I have a Great friend selling 4 DP 18"s that i can buy, if i buy those, he is getting 4 - 18" wardens from Nick. (if nick sees this, i am sure he knows who it is.) OR for about the same price, i can pick up a pair of wardens. If i do the wardens, i might be 2-12s or 2-18s or 2-21s. if i do the 12s, its for SB2 with usaci. if i do the 18s or 21s, i am shooting for a 4th order if that works with the DPs or big wardens. so what do you guys think. i have a blow thru in my ford ranger which is why i would have to do a 4th order. this will be tuned to 35-40hz..

You will be banned for all eternity if you don't post pixs This. What's going to be powering them? I don't believe I read that anywhere. I'd vote on a quartet of 40.1's Kef Well, since they are not IA brand, i will leave the name out, This is a Incriminator audio forum, i will only support IA product on here. But the amps i have are some newer amps on the market, pretty popular and will do about 4500 rms each. ( i have 2 of them) that works out to be about 2250 per DP. This is for a daily Street beater so that should work out pretty good. nothing wrong with saying what brand, IA is not like that, hell you chose their subs so I am sure they're happy lol. so what amps, and pics nao! I had 3 of them but sold one due to running 4 subs. IA or not, lots of power plus lots of cone area is a good thing. That should be a stupid loud setup, now that there's some pics, build pics and then meter vids or face the ban hammer. Kef I am going to try to start on the box this weekend. Maybe i will get some pics of the truck tomorrow for ya. Nothing special, just a 98 ford ranger ext cab with a NON matching camper shell.

You will be banned for all eternity if you don't post pixs X2 No prob. Looks like it may turn into a walk thru instead of a blow thru. I have a lot of prep work to do so it may be a week or so before i get pics up and going guys.

This. More cone area = your friend in this situation. The Wardens are awesome subs, but without more power and in a more optimized box (read: comp tuning), you'd be wasting the potential of the Wardens, IMO. Sure, the Wardens can sound good, but they are meant to get as loud as possible, and with you wanting to play music on them, I'd stick with the DP's. Kef Well, 4 - 18" DPs it is. purchased them a few days ago and have some people working on a 4th order BP for me for a blow thru in my little truck. If anyone is interested, i will post build pics on here later. I think the build will start by next monday or so.

I can make the port longer then 13" what do you think I should go for ....? gice me some options to work with. Thanks as far as checking them, you may have to pull them. as far as port, everyone is saying the port opening needs to be bigger, not the lenght. if you have 16 cubic feet you should have at least 200 sq in of port, if not more. If you port is 2.8 x 47.9 it probably needs to be 4.2 x 47.9"

You dont have one of them out of phase do you? I would double check your speaker wiring. Any updates??
-
35-40 is pretty dang low tuning for a 4th order.....idf rather see it @ 46 or so. Well you are prob. right, it will prob. still respond very well down to 40 atleast. wouldnt ya think.
-
Yeah, the wardens look bad ass but like i said, if i do those its only 2-12"S pretty hard for 2-12"s to overcome the cone area of 4-18"s with the same power. but i am also talking a difference of give or take... an 6cubic ft box vs a 28 cubic ft box..

I thought you can get a SPL set up or a daily coil ?
