(not mikey)

Jordan, I see you lurking in the shadows.....post up some of your progress in the IAKHOP , Mikey has told me alot about it! sorry to thread jack there Mikey, lol

your trucks ability to move hair and cans are small and unappealing.... you are only insulting yourself with thes minor examples of air pressure......in contrast to you need to show the stupidly ridiculous roof flex to honor it's true potential!!! and without being in it, no one will see the damage done on the ears! try video recording some lip flex.... seriously!!! . i was sitting in the back seat and the choices were to concentrate on the pain in my eardrums or my teeth chattering away... to save the enamel i opened my jaw slightly only to spend the next 5 mouth drying minutes motor boating and blowing rasberries, thinking to myself, i wish this fucking song would end so i can breath right again! i am surprised that the can did not get wedged in the window! and the lil boy probably passed puberty standing there at that window.......!!!!
-
two tries got the kerf nice and floppy.....lol busted out the resin...... it seemed to go rather well.......

you guys got to start coming to me for pics.... lets see, took it out on the strip, got stopped by a cop, threatened to mail a ticket to him if he "heard it any where downtown again".... pulled over by three people, asking about the equipment.... roof flex can be seen at night from the side walk with ease, as everyone points at it as he passes.... and the box, well it is a fort! very loud !!! rattles your teeth rather intensly.... some songs take your wing out of the lungs or get your lips blowing rasberries..... other songs, seem to rip the roof apart.... sweeet install mikey!.......ftw!
-
yup, a little more progress bro! these are the side pieces, sanded them down some while clamped together..... the jigsaw favors a slight lean to it, so had to get them back to true 90' degree cuts.... um, lost pic of inside temp braceing.... but we strategically clamped and glued till things took shape... the white silicon is a sort of a dam for the wood glue to stay in the kerfs a little glare, well, there is alot of glue, continued to work it in there for a few min.... we are going to let it dry over night.....

old country buffet, southern plaza, 10:am..........same general approach.... family participation is always encouraged......... the Slamology show will be a big topic, as well as the banner and the T's.........
-
grabbed up some rattle cans, masking tape, sand paper, silicon, wood glue, and wood filler..... got the resin on the side, port is cut, kerfed and ready to be assembled.......... mikey is coming over tomorrow with the clamps...... should make some head way on the build.... still gotta add a ground or two, build amp rack, build a battery box......sorta want a second d5100 for the back, might try to find one soon. might do some deadening this week end too, ....................maybe.....
-
mikey, you should of seen Tru!, shut down completly, ftl! (cruising spot in Indy) i like the approach of the double baffle and interlocking 90's.....gues that is a good term for them..... perhaps if one was so inclined to use a mechanical fastner for additional strentgh i would suggest 90' angles with holes predrilled in them.... interior as well as exterior..... opposing screw pattern...... this combined with internal 45's and internal braceing would be the strongest approach. i have taken screwed and brad nailed boxes apart to find splits in the wood.....even ones that were carefully pre-drilled, in mdf, not so much in birch. mikey, what are you sanding on? sorta got me lost on that one..... never the less you have bad ass milwauki saw, a $200 jig saw, a tuff little router............. and then there is your sander! i am quite sure the Smithsonian muesem would put you through college if you would retire it to thier collection! fellas no lie, it runs of of coal and steam power! my orbital tooth brush could give it a run for it's money mikey! lol get over here early tomorrow, i want o get these builds done bro..... chop

the count is slowly climbing, i sent the fellar a image code for the qoute on the screenprinting of it.... going to start a new thread for the order..... be sure to order a bunch of them..... chop

so we need to work on our logo's. * for the front page of SSA under the team section. * For our window stickers and banners.... * for shirts and hats... looking for any suggestions as well as links to learn how to create them. curently several of ours were done by Sander. We liked them quite a bit. this is one i am playing with. it is a blueprint style..... i think i will change the IAK to all white and see how it looks then.... this is the same one, but in a cartoon style...

nor have i bro, on my builds, i believe mikey might have glued some dusty joints at the weakest part of his box..... just bad luck, and believe me, the kid could write a book on that one, however...... his builds are typically large and powerful, holding up to the pressure fine..... i believe he will have this one done this weekend.... hope to hear it soon. chop IAK

and just like that, i was done with the progress, not a single thing has been done since, lol..... oh well, at least i got to try a new trick.... i read a few articles, heard a few myths, discovered a few calculations, but in the end, i just decided to cut the wood.....it seemed to work easy enough for me..... might throw some glue in it this weekend..... not going to the show, not working, so definetly might work on the audio. chop

since our glorious " in-house" "professional-box-builder" could not seem to be of assistance in the past week and a half or so, i decided to try to cut out all three peces of my port all by myself, just like the big boys do it! first time, i chose just to over cut each kerf.... 1/2" intervals, leaving a 1/4" of material at the bottom of each kerf.... you can see the outter walls of the port too well, i tried to bend it nicely, it started to crack nicely, so a slammed it into the fence post nicley, which did not turn out so nicely! then we had to move shop cause of the rain..... went to the first garage, thanks to old-man Steve for the temporary use of the garage but more importantaly, thanks for serving in two wars for our families! this is our new work area.... so the first kerf stayed rather stiff..... i closed up the spaceing to 3/8" and only left a 1/8" of material behind.... also cut the board long ways first this time around, liked it better too, so, here it is, curled right up for us.....
-
interlocking double baffle 90's glued vs single 90's screwed.............. i hate to see you waste your gas money, sh8t ain't cheap any more, lol. here is a late pic of your cut outs, thanks for the garage space steve. i think we end up calling it 30 pieces...!!! it is basically three boxes, two inner and one outter shell.... Ol' Mikey may or may not be asleep in this pic, lol
