um, how is this the case if you were able to qoute me a price on ordering you a recone and state that they do not warrant the surrounds in thier warranty? this was within just days of it happening.... not to say that you are in "fault" but, we have beat the shit out of the sub since you got it....daily.... i would not say it was a pos..... i own three currently, sell me your motor ..... if your not f*cking with them any more.... i probably should not fork out the cash for a recone......i will try to help you get a better sub for your pos car, lol gotta have baby bro gp'n again soon! call me, we will come up with a game plan that reflects your current goals.... chop

thanks for the sugestions... did not see any..... other than what i mentioned, i did remember seeing big wills install, trying to look up the specs on it now, as in the most current power being applied and what numbers are being put up.... is there any xcon installs out there with more than 4 subs? um, why even try what? yes i know they are loud.... not the result of the research desired.... attempting to offer a bit of insight as to what one might achieve with similar gear..... i have been around the xcon for awhile threw my team mates, thus gaining my respect for them. now i am wanting to know as much as i can about the larger, more extreme installs using multiple xcons... thanbk again for any input... chop

1991 Chevy Caprice Classic 305 V8 w/ 125k on it very basic ride, for now. i plan on tracking the build with plenty of pics in the upcoming months. in short, plans are a ho alt, upgraded battery under hood, big 3 electrical upgrade, (brands?) power wire will likely be dual runs of 0/2 gauge, additional battery in trunk.... 7" fold out head unit, (brand?), upgraded speakers in front doors w/ amp, (brand?)..... wall behind seats, not completly to b pillar though, for ride comfort of partially reclined seat.... sound deadening up front for sure.... 5" gorilla lift kit ..... not sure wheel tire package will change for a while.... 22" likely car will be two toned in primer... black over grey.... airbrushed IAK mural on hood and trunk.... upgraded to a carb, new headers, dual exhuast a percentage of this work is currently being or already has been scheduled / ordered. i am rather confident in the amps being from Sundown..... the sub stage is still being determined... treo ssx 18"s... shocker sig 18"s .... NS 18"s ..... DC lvl 5 18"s ...... crossfire sx 18"s ?????? soooo many options, it will most likely come down to best deal available at that time... currently, i find i like lower tunning and have a real easy 17 cubes to start with...... i will update often shortly after labor day weekend is over and out of the way. input is welcome on aany of it!

i have never attempted it, however, i have heard of sand , packaging peanuts, and other items that you can fill up the area with, transfere it to a container that you do know what the volume is....this should give you good results, all seems tedious and over the top...... lol, probably the exact reason i threw it out there for you.... lol i would assume this is the best path, being creative with what item you use will be key... chop

steve, i have seen builds where a portion of the enclosure is glassed...thickly, multiple layers... but still offers more air than the straight path that the mdf offers.... what is your take on the body lines and this install approach? does it look as if it would offer up some addtional room? enough to encourage the project to move forward? i wonder if you were to glass it out to the max dimensions....then design a 4th order, sorta the same, subs facing up and ports firing forward, approach.... but let the lower chamber, the top sealed.... the subs face into a sealed chamber, straight up.... this would be, of coarse, them inverted and truly be firing into the ported...sorry, poor wording here.... wish you could see me pointing at the imaginary box i just built in my head, lol does what i am saying make sense? seems like you would stand to gain output this way...and flatten the response some.... the design should offer a way to "switch out" the different bafflesand ports, it has been suggested that when designing fourth orders to plan on at least three designs to "nail" it...... then you could begin to paint and finalize the look after testing..... just a thought, if not this approach, the glassed bottom still might offer more airspace for a typical ported enclosure..... chop

would fiber glassing a area help increase some airspace? i will try to look at your build too see if i can pick up some clues.... chop
