the cutlass is back from the paint shop, now boasting 9 coats of clear and enough metal flake in it, that you could justify taking it, (the paint job), to the recycle yard for scrap , lol i was insructed to give it about 60 days or so and then we will bring her back to get a good buff and wax job.....then it should be crazy... they, (the fellars at the paint shop), took to me real quick like, really digging my approach with IAK, encouraging me to put my nick name on the trunk, but as i explained to them, i gotta keep cost down however i can, right now, i just don't see it happening, so, they did it for me any way, no charge! too dam cool of them! Thanks Lee!!! so, it now says pork chop on the rear rally stripes. the story is on the paint.... if you was curious... they are the original owners and painters of this car.... the kid who bought it from them, buffed it out way to soon...leaving swirl marks everywhere.....probably why i got the car as cheap as i did... looked great dusty, lol, but cleaned up, it is so glassy already that the swirls really stood out. any way i bought it from him and took it back to them, they were heartbroken to see it.... now, after they wet sanded it, cleared it, wet sanded it, cleared it, etc..... it is crazy wet for sure, they added the extra metal flake,(silver), and there is already rainbow in it...... it does need buffing, to let it really show it's true quality...... but i will be sure to let this paint cure this time around.... ALTON: worse case senario, the cutlass stays and we bring Samntha's Taurus and Regina's Durango......the women of IAK seem to be fairing quite well with the installs, lol.... so, being the worse case, i think that it still works out just fine....family anf good times.....and some audio to boot....ftw! the pics for the Durango, as well as a build log should soon be popping up..... and Samntha is getting her install mic'd today! < Ol' Chop grinning ear to ear saying this lil phrase! I am a proud Papa! chop

man...... i almost bought several things for this build..... holding off to ensure the rest of the car was solid, putting audio at #2 ..... now, i am getting nervous about the audio purchases..... thinking i am going to suspend the install untill i get a solid budget built back up..... i might install some of my current stuff until my piggy bank starts filling back up.... i have a two builds i am doing outside of the cutlass, as well as a complete remodel of our home..... i want to insure i finish all of the stuff i have going currently before i start any more projects..... keep a eye out, i might be able to slip a few upgrades in, but a full build might be a bit..... chop

multiple sub install with xcons???
porkchop replied to porkchop's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
How about using actual numbers? They're easy to find by simply looking at the SSA Product page for the XCon. The T/S spec "Sd" is effective cone area stated in cm^2. If you want it in inches, just convert. That gives you 480 cm^2 per 12 which is 74.4 in^2. The 15s are 810 cm^2 or 125.55 in^2. That makes 5 12s roughly equivalent to 3 15s. Add another of each and the percentage cone area advantage is pretty significant for the 15s at over 10%. However 10% isn't an audible difference. The 15s also want a slightly smaller enclosure. All that said, in a high power application the increase in heat dissipation allowed by the extra 2 motors of the 12s may reduce power compression and more than make up for the cone area difference. In a daily system, you aren't going to notice the difference one way or the other. If it were me, I'd go with the 15s for the cost savings and space savings. nice of you to drop in..... very detailed answer offering alot of help....thanks a ton! -

just FYI, both recieved thier shirts .......
-
Okay....... first shirts will be ultra simple..... all black T's with white font on back.... we need at least 24 to have an order..... price is like $9 bucks for youth to xl............ $11 for xl to 4xl..... $2 bucks per "X" after that........... currently, i believe i am at 15.......more than likely i will have to increase my order...... any one who has commented on the other thread, please re-post here.....thanks for your time and trouble.... let's keep this thread clean, just orders.... we can chat about them on the other thread.... this will keep it easy to read when it is time to place the order.... i will let this ride for a week and then i will have chuck get it it turned in.... if you have extra dough in your pocket...chip in on the cost, we need to cover for a few members..... lets try to get the cash together asap as well.... the stickers, banners, decals, all are in the works as well.... Big thanks to Chuck (Chicagofan)!!! chop

i should have detailed info and sample by the weeks end..... monday for sure.... average cost of average size hoodies of average qaulity are right around $10 bucks, i have not looked up bulk orders due to the size variances..... i think if we clear a higher number....the art work should be under $25 .... i say this due to, that is the cost of a single work order..... we will be sure to drive the cost down, with out the qaulity being hampered...... i would think that a custom hoody for around $25 bucks, personalized with the individual's name on it would be a nice price.... the zip up style offers alot of opportunity to rep us proudly.... anxious to see where we end up with this one.... it was too cool seeing flocks of IAk all through out slamology! * Chop ..... 3xl * Gina...... 4xl * Kryssy ...... youth large * Kimberly ..... youth large * Samantha......... 3xl * Paul.............. 5xl * Alex............... 2t *********we will need to be sure to get the names desired, correct spelling, and sizes all in one post please********** this will cover our household.... i will ask around for the other family and edit my list to expand the order.... so that it will not get to clouded up for you.... thanks chuck rep us proudly IAK!!! chop
