lol, right on.... Gina likes her install quite a bit.... not too competitive until one of us pull into the lanes.. then she is all into it, almost as loud as when she is watching her football games! DO NOT mess with this 6' tall redhead and her Colts! lol not sure if you remember, but Samantha, our oldest, got first place in her class for bass race last year at slamology! she goes cruising on the strip, show boats, demos, competes, and is in love with it all...and my other two are growing right up in it! . . . . need to upgrade the sound deadening still via Steve Mead. (thank you sir) as well as ground the rca's... run seperate rca for sub amp... change out factory location tweeters with something alot softer.... clean up the box a little.... add big three into the mix... locate pink wire loom to dress out engine bay for her. thanks for swinging through bro! i will let her know you dropped in. she stays on FB quite often, lol chop

Did you make a bracket for the new stock alt location? And do you think it's the same in a 1985 Delta 88? And nice ride bro. negative, there has been no forward progress with the cutlass, i do plan on doing something custom, but it will be mid summer or so. i have not compared the two. sorry for the lack of help... have you talked with tejcurrent yet...he surely can give you some info or direction! lots of folks have pointed me toward the junkyard for a bracket match up journey.... too dam broke as of right now, but i am going to blame it on being to dam cold to go hunting for it! lol if i come up with any addtional info, i will be sure to pm it to you! thanks for stopping in. chop

Carl Casper - Louisville, KY Feb26 LARGEST Show in America
porkchop replied to shizzzon's topic in Competitions & Other Organized SPL/SQ Events
Carl Casper's Show in Louisville - Friday, December 17, 2010 MECA Celebrates 13 years of fun and games at Carl Casper's Show in Louisville, KY on the weekend of February 25-27th. This is the site of the first MECA contests, and the tradition continues at this premium 3 day event. All activities are in-doors, at the Pavilion located in the KY Fair & Expo Center, located just off I-65. There are Motel 6's in the area. Carl Casper's Show is one of the premier events in Louisville, drawing 100,000 people over 3 days. No other MECA event gives us as much exposure and interaction with the public, people who don't usually attend sound-offs. Friday night is MECA's Loudest In Louisville, for metro boomers only. There are 15 classes in our Sound Pressure contest, looking for the Loudest In Louisville, who gets a special 4" trophy. Saturday and Sunday make up the Sound-off Nationals, which includes all Sound Quality League and Sound Pressure League contests. Sound Pressure and Park & Pound are qualifying contests, so Competitors must post a score on Saturday to qualify in the the "Top 3" in their class for the Finals on Sunday. SQL Competitors can compete in Sound Quality, Install, RTA Freq Out, and SQ2 on Saturday and Sunday. MECA Kids are free with an adult entry. Flyers are posted on the Event Schedule and can be viewed by clicking on the name of the event. -

hey , i would like that.... i really dont call mine a donk, several reasons.... mainly, 22"s are not even considered a big rim around here... almost everyone is on 4's or 6's and then big dogs are all over that...lol sounds like a serious install! lots of pics please! what year/make is it?

Ls Chevy........... any shops or comps close to you? i have had a huge amount of installs, not peaking over $300 for a sub..... install..... i have plenty of stories where this comes to play for sure....even my own.... hold onto your cash just a bit longer.... read up on hear and try to find real world exsposure.... let your ears be your guide.... if you find a loud system you like ask a ton of questions. as your budget grows, so will your taste and knowledge. as far as different.... if you put the time and dedication in, you most likely be different than most of your peers. gl with you goals. currently, i have two 18" SSA XCONs , individually were within that budget.... and believe me the sq is there and are plenty dam loud! chop
