When you can look forward to... (KH501 Series)
porkchop replied to Argent Audio's topic in Argent Audio
guess not -
is there not any pics from previous builds? thinking that a pic heavy thread would prompt future orders.
-
This was actually meant for Team SSA members since it's in our section oops, i failed to make that connection, sorry.

if i remember correctly, there is a two day ticket or something that is avaible for spectators as well. yeah we will be there satuyrday then definetly. i get cool dad points when i pull the girls out of school early but the teachers seem to disagree on out math field trips, lol so i try to keep it to a mininum...... carl casper is one of my favorite shows around here, but i hate the lack of demos.... but it is fair in thier over-all reasoning. -
for whatever reason, i had not linked this build with team decent, guess i am a genuise at best. awesome builds.

me and the family will be there.... some of IAK as well. -
lol, i was just getting ready to pm you and ask if the wall is all gone..... do you have the design drafted out or is it just in your noggin? would love to see it, i know i will at carl casper but that is so far away. i picked a little something that i will be able to work on this year....... lots of air space, more than i can fill at the moment. 100hz!! wow so, will carl casper be offering a little more slack for demos this year or do you know?
-
i do believe everyone in IAK is either currently working on or begiining to start new build for 2010! out of all of them, chicagofan is the closest to completion, let's get those 8"s shipped out
-
i am happy for you, any pics yet? did you decide to fire it to the rear? hope so.... it is the better, easier way. we often loose the rear fill.... allowing this area to help vent the bass into the cabin.

Dam, like every other week, sme sort of upgrade or addition. I am just proud to be habging out in SSA. I was just reading up on the awesome new skin, and seen this link. Too cool. i will love to see this! can you get like one big girl in there for me? nothing too over the top... 6' or so, the good side of 300lbs. ....... perhaps Norbit"s girl doing the car wash scene. now that is hot!!! how the hell do you spell r-e-t-r-a-b-e-u--s-h-a? lol, not sure.

what vehicle are you doing the install in? strictly spl? i am not at the level to read it's specs and form an opinion yet. i do know that there are programs out there that you can model your subwoofer in different enclosures and see how they would react. i talked to a kid in 502, he was world champ in his single sub class.... perhaps you should look him up, benhemp. he does not use models though, lots of testing.....lots of tweaking.

you will find two large crowds on this subject. your personal preferance and goals will begin to override all input toward the end of your research. you will find, when done right, that either can deliver satisfaction to a specific set of goals. size, that is a big one. ease of design and build, mentioned and considered alot. sound, output, both style enclosures have been designed, built and documented as having great results. bosting very enticeing numbers. what one is right or wrong, there is where you will end up, personall preferance and goal. i searched the net over, found so many facts and figures, extremly ellaborate builds, on both sides of the spectrum..... with car audio, like the nich i happen to fall into, daily driver, hip hop and rap style music.... the ported is simple enough. the thing on the x-max, i have read that, and with the same confident reviews, i have read that installing a sub into a t-line will reduce it' power handling. i have been trying real hard to read up on the t/s specs and learn all their values....... when you begin to design a t-line..... man they all are present. x-max has so many other values that intertwine, it can not truly be narrowed down to a general statement. perhaps to one specifically designed enclosure and one specific subs specs, with a specific tunning and power, but not in everycase.... there is truth in the glass, but how much louder is what comes to play..... we are talking about itin another thread, 10th's are indeed louder, just not to the ear. why go ported? that is way to broad..... once again.... goals and personal preferance comes to play.

x2 Where are the formulas/equations? JL port length formula try the JL port length formula.

i am anxious to see the box, i am curious about if there was any additional braceing added, itis a huge box to ship too, wow , did they kill you on shipping? pics!!!!

i think it was the old pyle driver 15", mounted in a cardboard box, wrapped up with two rolls of duct tape. had a two channel mtx amp hooked up through the lighter and the box set on the pasenger floor board , unless someone was in it, then on the tranny hump. every thing else was factory and used lamp cords for wiring...... it wasn't till about four years after that did i start a new set-up, right before i graduated high school. seemed like it was top notch to a couple of jr high school kids though. lol, thanks for the memories. chop
-
i have never linked those two together. you are 100% right. i see where you are coming from.
-
i could not link back to it from my link or the one under fabrication, where i got it from i find that within useing slot ports, i can get alot closer to the port area that i need / desire , than with the aero ports. the velocity is 56% less, okay! thanks
-
so, i found this one too, and after playing around with the numbers a while, i seen that the 56% came up again, hmmm, might be on to something here. these guys get a little deeper with it, but, in short, i think i got it. lots of info though, hope it helps. chop

i need to see a pic of the subs from inside of the car, with trunk shut and lights on...... really, i gotta see it. it has to look bad ass. it all does. chop

Help me with my electrical systm please!!
porkchop replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i have seen times were this similar problem was cured by adding additional grounds throughout. adding multiple, good, solid grounds will not hurt and almost always proves to help out. rechecking each connection, positives ans grounds is also a good starting point. sometimes things tend to loosen up some. i like the idea of having the same gauge wire through out the build. the 4 gauge seems like it would be one thing to bump up in size. do a good, complete walk through of it, check all things mentioned in op, and let us know. chop
