Im gonna go with the SS due to how unique it is. I had a few problems with the eD o flat cones, and I dont care to deal with them again. Mike is the man though! And I mean 50+, thats just mind blowing!

Well either tonight or tomorrow morning I am leaving for 2 months to go on a road trip across the US. Its all going to start at Bonnaroo in Tennesse this weekend. Other stops include, in order pretty much: Key West New Orleans- where I am going to stay for approx 5 days New Mexico- to the White Sands national monument Arizona- to the Grand Canyon where ill hike for a few days Vegas- Got a Suite at the Belliagio(sp?) for a night Montana- Glacier National Park Colorado- Vail to stay with my old man for a week Ohio- Ceader Point to rock out on some dope coasters, Then Rock N roll hall of fame Back to NY Im sure ill be adding stops along the way. But this is my general path. I have no set time that I need to be anywhere. I love it, this is going to be an experience of a lifetime.

Technically a smaller box would be "sloppier". The larger you go, the more overdamped it becomes (lower Qtc), which tightens up transient response and such. Go too large and you can get what's called "critically overdamped"....which most people wouldn't enjoy the sound of as it would be "dry" and "lifeless".... But...one thing I've noticed is that the Rl-p drivers don't model well in most programs/calculations (atleast the 12's)....you may be better off sticking with SS's recommended range. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interestng Ive always associated a box thats to large as sloppy or muddy. Smaller being tighter more accurate response. Smaller boxes will be perceived as "tighter" because of they have a nice hump in the frequency response in the upper bass/lower midbass. This will give the sound a "punchy" or "tight" sound to the bass.....but it's because of the increased output in that frequency range, and NOT because of actual increased "tightness". It doesn't become muddier or sloppier; what happens is the low frequency output is increased (better low frequency extension) and upper bass output is decreased, so with a larger box you are hearing more TRUE bass (which is slow and "muddy" by nature), rather than enhanced and exaggerated midbass. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gotcha, makes sense thanks man!

Reporting for New Orleans where its insane. Jelly I use 2.3 net and it sounds fine it is a bit more bommy from when I slugged my box, but I like it. 3cuft might be pushing it, I could see the sub getting a lot more sloppier. But like kent said they only to see is to try!! Check out my vid on realm. you can definitly get them to make good amount of noise sealed.

    RLp question

I can make mine move with 500 watts. After playing with it for a while longer now I really wouldnt put much more than a 1000watts to each one. Im not saying you cant, but I dont see where they will go to much more crazy over 1000watts unless you burping them. I say this generously too because I really dont see where they would need more than 750ish, especially daily.

    32 7.5" edesigns....

He could just buy idv3 8's and save time. Gonna practically be the same damn woofer. I shouldnt say that I dont know what im talking about It does look cool though. eD may have someitng nice coming up but i doubt it and if they did I still dont care. It wont be as good as Loyds wall of 8's.

    RLp question

The wiring configs hes looking at could be acheived with dual1's or dual2's. Did they make a run of 15's that was dual2's???
  20. Started shouldnt have anything to do with big 3. Batt - to closest main frame piece. Positive post on alt to positive post on batt. Alt bracket to closest frame piece. Leave all stock woring and just place your new ring terminals on top of exisiting.

    RLp question

Arent your Rl-p's D4's? If so then you need the amp to give power at 2ohm series, or 4 or 1, if wiring the woofers together. Parallel, parrallel = 1ohm load Series, Parallel = 4ohm load This is unless you have 2 d2's
  23. Fonzi

    XXX Prob

Get a ohm meter and check the VC's on the sub, one might be blown. This definintly sounds like a phasing problem though, movement with little to no sound coming from the sub. If it is phasing its going to most likly be the VC's are wired incorrectly. Definitly hook the SX back up if you have it, or any sub for that matter. You dont need to put it in the box either, you can run it free air and you should be able to tell.
