You might want to have a fruit platter to start off with. Crepes stuffed with strawberrys and a cream cheese/whipped cream blend, topped with some strawberry sauce. You might also want to consider doing scrambled eggs with fried chopped panchetta incorperated inside the eggs with some sort of sharp cheese melted with the eggs. I guess it really depends a lot on your family too. What is your ethnicity?

RMS wattage Calculation
Lucky 76 replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
By resistance do you mean impedance? If so, how are you measuring the impedance at that frequency? Outside of chasing tenths there is absolutely no need to measure power anyways. Just set your gains with the scope at a non-clipping point and play away. If you are trying to eek every last drop out of a setup, different story but for something that will never see a competition it is a joke as you ear really can't tell the difference. I am saying just tune the amp without any output load on it. This will give you where the amplifier clips. Then you can square the output voltage and divide by the impedance of preference. Say you wanted what it puts out at 1 ohm, couldnt you just divide the squared output voltage by 1? -
No panels ftw

Cant you just find out where the amp clips with an osciloscope and then square the output voltage and divide by the resistance? -
Amplifier Fuse Pop
Lucky 76 replied to Lucky 76's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
It seems I have a bad amp directly out of the box. That is strange because sundown tests their amps when they leave the facility. Something must have happened during shipping. I emailed Jacob so hopefully he gets back to me soon. Very upsetting day, I have yet to hear my horns =( -
For some reason the fuse on my sundown 125.2 amplifier keeps popping. I do not even get to turn the car on before they pop. Once I go to insert one fuse it pops directly on contact. Can this be because all 3 fuses have to be connected without power going to them (i know that sounds stupid because of the whole current draw thing but I though I would just throw it out there). The fuse connected 18" away from the amp does not pop but the one connected to the 125.2 does. This leads me to believe that the problem lies somewhere else down the line. I checked the power and ground and they are not touching, they are also inputed correctly. The ground is also secured firmly. No light comes on whatsoever (protect or on light). The gains are turned all the way down. I do not know where else to look. Any help would be great. Thanks, Chris

amp suggestions for fi ssd 12"

Most likely not. This is a sundown dominant forum and you will be considered crazy to prefer another amp. -

The 1500 is putting out close to 1800w and you wont hear a difference with that driver accept when it extends beyond its mechanical limitations. Unless you are doing a competition the 1000 or 1200 is fine. Why spend an extra hundred if it is unnecessary? -

Lucky 76 replied to Rozon420's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Obviously if you adjust your gains with it on, no big deal...but again the real question is WHY would you want to use it. Are you looking to have a bloated frequency response around the frequency that your bass boost works at? All it does is ruin your frequency response. The caveat of course is if you happen to have designed a crappy box that happens to need boost where the amplifier will give it, well then it may help with your inadequate install but don't come crying when you overexcurte your driver and wreck it because it is trying to do what it can't. Of course those with ears will never blow a driver anyway since it is rather easy to hear strain in a driver. I am always amazed at how so many people have issues with this, but then again I am amazed at how shitty most peoples aftermarket stereos sound as well. well put -
Babbooom! and here here to my 1000th post!!!!

O ya. Links might work. I dont know though because it is for another car audio forum. Let me try!

how do u like the IDs? ive never heard any ID products but bought them based on reviews. got the ctx65cs and 2 IDQ15v2s I have a problem with mine right now. It is faily common. Because the magnet is so powerful it actually sucked in some metal burs and gives the speaker a scratchy sound to it. I need to clean them. The get rediculously loud off 150 watts let me just put it that way to you. Rock and metal is retarded on them!

How long have you had your amp? -

Exactly! I was able to tune my friends with an osciloscope and it ended up working out but most of the time it just isnt worth it. Plus it fs up the sound. -
Great choice! That is what I am using on my id xs69 set. You will not notice the difference in output between the 50.4 and the cadence. You will however notice the quality!

Is that the polk sub with the clear cone?
-
get a sundown 50.4
-
X2 lol well I only had so much cash to spend. thats what I call a "budget" lols doesn't work well for most people. What was your budget? x2 and also how do you like the polk equipment and the pioneer receiver?

I dont need an amp but I might just have to buy one just because its such a great deal

12 ga Speaker wire enough for Mid/Tweets?
Lucky 76 replied to smullen's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
12 gauge is overkill. I ran 14 gauge on my 100.4 that now belongs to Mac and Cheese and that is way more than enough. I would say 14-16 gauge is plenty unless you have 12 lying around it isnt needed. -

I also agree with this. Sundown makes great amplifiers. At this price you cannot go wrong if you don't mind buying refurbrished. To be honest it is like buying a new amp because it comes with a 1 year warranty straight from sundown and that amp is also not b stock which means it looks almost new. -

What voice coil option would he us too? 2ohm basic coil So you got the dual 2 ohm verison, so you need an amp that will do around 800rms or so at 1 ohm? yes . so i wouldnt need a 2ohm amp? Dual 2 ohm means that each voice coil is at 2 ohm. When you wire the coils in parallel it will make a 1 ohm load or if you wire them in series you will have a 4 ohm load. You can also wire the voice coils individually @ 2 ohms with a 2 channel amp and run each coil to its own channel but that is not recomended because it will most likely sound like ass. -
