Just ordered $500 worth of wire ontop of what is already in my car $250 worth of rcas and ring terminals New Kenwood DNX6140, Fans, Fuses, Fuseholders, 3sixty.2 4 Sundown 1500s Still need some batteries, speakers for the front, another speaker amp, and the subs. Lots more to be spent. So little in the bank account.

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

Those are not "small box" drivers. If you aren't putting them in a box they need a minimum of 10cuft and more would be better. ie having them vent into your hood or somewhere outside will really help the bottom end. They should be able to take all of the 100.4 without a problem. Let your ears decide though as it will be the lower frequencies as per usual that will stress the driver. Definitely let your ears decide with the subs and horns off. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-456 Shows the mounting depth is 4.75" Frequency response charts here, 1kHz shouldn't be a problem. http://www.parts-express.com/pdf/295-456s.pdf Assuming these are like their brethren in the line you should really like them. I would also expect if you don't they should be fairly easy to sell at not that much of a loss. I will repeat though that these won't be as loud in the 150-800Hz range as the ID's according to their power handling and sensitivity, but they should surely have some sick midbass and still be able to blend with your horns. I will have to see how my bank book is looking when I order everything. I will most likely get these though. Thanks!!!
  3. I planned on buying a set of image dynamics horns. The ID Horns get so loud I do not know what to use to compliment them. Should I go a midrange and a midbass or just a midbass because the horns tackle such a large range of frequencies?

I am thinking no diamond because then it will not be removable for daily listening.

Just to let you know those measurements are from the car floor up and not the dance floor.

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

The way my kicks are setup there is plenty of ventallation behind the panel =) Do you know what the mounting depth on those beasts are. Hopefully no more than 5"s.

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

What would you recommend throwing at them for power? I am bridging my sax100.4 so I have plenty of power to give =)

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

Ya so do I. I will probably go with these then. If I do not like them. Oh well it beats spending 400+ on a set. Thanks!!!!

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

So the way I have it now will not work. How can I enclose the area? Will these sound good for what I want them for. Like I will be able to hear the words and whatnot correct?

Alright we have some good news! WEVE GOT PLENTY OF ROOM!!!!! To get the 14"s we are going to move the box up by 4"s. You are more than welcome to use the extra space to our advantage. We still have 41.25"s of height. The width is fine for the most part. We have with the doors off. From end to end On the bottom - 58"s 16"s up - 60"s 24"s up - 62"s Notches at the window pillar at 26"s - 63"s At the window pillar at 35"s - 58"s At the top - 50"s Let me know if this is still doable. Thanks and Josh has been raised to be a carpenter so we can most likely do the diamond if needed.

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

Would those daytons be a lot louder than the iDs? The iDs have a sensitivity of 92 and take 150 rms. These have an 86.5 sensitivity and take 280 watts rms. I know when it comes to subs you have to measure other stuff besides sensitivity. How would they perform in my kick as they are not completely sealed off in the back?

What to use with Image Dynamics Horns?

CSS was recommending up to 500hz, but I'm going to see if I can push the envelope and get another half octave out of them The Trio8's are what I'll be (attempting) to use with my horns. There are some pro drivers that will give you a ton of "snap" at ~100hz and up, but crap out below that. I've heard good things about those XS mids, haven't heard them myself however. I was considering them but I'm a cheap bastard & didn't want to spend the coin. Ya I do not wish to spend the coin either. I just want everything done the correct way so I figured might as well match them up right. Let me know how the trios go for you.

Alright. Josh and I are going to measure tomorrow and see where we end up. Thanks for all your help and insight.

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

ahaha so were most likely going to try and go for the 18s. How much of a difference if we cannot go all the way back to the hump with that. I am pretty sure we cannot but we can get 14"s im sure.

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

What would the difference be on music between 4 15s and the 4 18s?
  17. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

Would this be louder than if I were to have 4 15s? If so how much or how less
  18. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

I am almost positive I can squeeze 3 on each side. This is just the front correct? What about near the window though?
  19. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

What would the port area be?
  20. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

I guess well have to go with 4 15s =( I already bought the 4 sundown 1500s so That will have to do =( Sounds terrible considering I wanted the 4 18s. There is no possible way to make the port length longer by extending the box to the back more?
  21. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

Ya as long as they are SSA products and can be doable with 4 sundown sax1500s then we are golden. The 18s would have just been delish to look at because they are gargantous =) Whatever you feel will do me best. Thanks!!!!
  22. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

Ouch! Well that obviously is not going to be cutting it. What if I were to go 8 of the 12-15" Icons? Would the port area needed be smaller? If not what can we do to make just a regular box? What will it look like? The reason I liked the wall idea was because it sealed everything off and would have made everything look nicer.
  23. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

Also what is the proper amount of port we should be using for this box?
  24. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

There is no possibly way to meet the proper port area? We cannot make a t port or have the port on the top bottom and through the middle?
  25. Lucky 76

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35

Why can we not build a t port or a combo or a regular port and aero port? What is the lowest tuning frequency you can tune the box to? We need to build a wall lol! Its a must!
