    ya same for me
  2. Your dome lights will always dim unless voltage is constant. They will also get brighter if you increase voltage. The brightness of your interior lights are affected more than your exterior lighting. Your headlights remain the same brightness through a certain voltage range. Btw your alt is spitting out some crazy voltage at idle lol. I am curious to see what it puts out at 2k rpm.
  3. I was planning on buying 4 of the C&D High Rate 100 lb batteries for my car. They do something like 140 aH. I can get them for under $200 shipped each. I was looking into the d3100 batteries along with other batteries which are almost double the price. How much of a difference is there between the C&D batteries and say the d3100? Is it worth the extra $700 total I would have to spend? I am powering 4 of the saz1500s, 1 100.4, and 1 120.2. I have a 260 amp alternator. Let me know what you think.

is it my head unit or my speakers???

Were you playing a cd, listening to fm, playing your ipod? It is hard to troubleshoot based on the information presented. Most sony decks are so they skip a lot when you hit a bump. Also you said your front speakers cut out. Did your back speakers stay running? If so do you have your speakers wired to your head unit or to an external amplifier?
  5. do this step by step check the battery's float voltage turn the car on check the voltage at the alt at idle with no load check the voltage of the battery at idle with no load check the voltage of the alt at 2k rpm no load check the battery at 2k rpm no load now do the same thing with your system on a constant tone at as loud as you normally play it add this one step at idle and at 2k rpm check the input voltage at the amp this will give us a better understanding of what is going on and if there is a problem.

    CDT Comps

Also my friend bought the $100 cdt comps. The upgraded tweeter is not too too bad but the mids are sloppy. I also feel they are overrated as we didnt even put 100 rms to them and they sounded overdriven. The sensitivity is also overrated because there was barely a difference between the stock set.

    CDT Comps

I got my id horns a lot cheaper by just calling an authorized dealer up. I got them for $250 I believe. They will gladly ship them to you. They do not have an online dealer license and that is why only woofersetc.com has them online. They will tackle from 1.2k and up without getting muddy (that is what matt at id recommended and he designed them). Combined with the xs69 that would be a deadly combo and exactly what I have in my car. I payed around $550 total shipped. Bottom line - you will never keep up with the 18s plain and simple. The best you can do is buy the id horns and the loudest set of midbasses you can find. If you cannot afford that you need to go active no matter what speakers you choose because no passive will surpass the output capabilities of an active crossover.

we do not really have any big time places just small time stores.

    home depot MDF

A sphere enclosure would be badass. How does it make it? Is it out of like a solid wood and then in hollows it out? I remember when I went to home depot and bought their entire inventory of 3/4" mdf. They were stunned.

Ya I know. I did not think the uv would be that much of a difference though. The green pretty much blind me.

ya i was worried about that too. the bottles look much better when frosted as you can tell from the mikes hard lemonade bottle. The uvs are not that bright. I need to add another to each vent. I just ordered to 38" flex strips in uv for the port =) ... shit is gonna be shooting purple fog out of it =)

    ShiZZZoN's Build Log

That box is going to do work! Considering you are over doubling your port area I think you should see some worthwhile gains. What are you going to do as far as amps go since you have 3 subs now.

The dome lights are blue and they are freaking bright. I need to upload a halarious video still. I got to put another uv in the ac vents because you can barely see them.

    front stage opinons

I am not a fan of the lower line cdt. My friend bought a pair and I personally thought they should have sounded a lot better. I have never heard that particular model re component set. I had a couple sets of the re xxx components and they sounded decent. The highs were a little soft though. I am a big fan of boston acoustics. My mom's 300c came with their "factory grade" stuff and it sounds incredible. I had a pair of the mb quarts and they are just ok. Their lower lines are in a different ball game than their q line. I also do not like their tweeter as they are too tinny. In my opinion I would buy the boston acoustics and cross them over at 70 hZ. I would imagine you are installing a subwoofer correct?

    front stage opinons

If he has a spending limit of $300 there is no way he is going to be able to find an active crossover and a decent set of mids and tweets for that price. Not to mention he would need a 4 channel amplifier. Active is better but if you do not know what you are doing it is not worth it. I do not mean to degrade your intellect or experience in audio by any means. Save yourself the headache and just buy a set of passive components.
  20. Gonna have to modify one of yours ahahah Second Skin Scorch Pad
  21. I would see how it performs. If you have voltage drops try 1/0 to the big 3. If you still get voltage drops replace the wire from the battery to the block. Its not like you are posing a question on which one to buy but which one to install. Since you already have the 4 might as well try it. It wont damage anything.
  22. what you need it for would be a great start lmao
