99 accord coupe 3.0L...pretty sure the alt puts out around only 100amp...i need to figure out if i will be able to power around 1300RMS for my fi BL..what all should i get? I got the amp, used to have 4 gauge thinking about running 0 gauge with the new set up..i need suggestions i really have no idea about this kind of stuff, extra batteries new alt??anything guys need help.. thanks!

Stupidly I bought an 18 Fi BL and didn't realize I couldn't fit the recommended box inside my trunk...its anywhere between 4-4.5 cubic ft..Is there anyway I can build a new box similar in size that will increase the current SPL levels and help not suffocate the sub-woofer so much?

Just starting to get really into car audio...Bought the Fi BL 18 last year and put it in a 4.0 cubic ft box running around 1100 RMS (i know its a small box, but its in a trunk).. haven't driven in over year, but about to start back up. My question is what makes the bass sound so different.. I mean my friend had 2 12's in a smaller box and his just sounds so clean and clear, while it sounds crisp inside, on the outside the car it really isn't banging like it is in the inside. My set up however just sounded mean and powerful inside the car and fairly loud on the outside..I've heard the terms (clean bass) and (dirty bass) before, but I'm not exactly sure what is meant by that. Can anyone describe it a little further and what exactly makes them sound different? Also I'm getting a new box built professionally and I'm wondering what they have to do to make a box that will let people feel the sound waves as I'm driving by, but also keeping it loud inside the car? First, that has nothing to do with the box. Second, that is a terribly idiotic goal. Your system should be for your enjoyment, not for intentionally disturbing the peace. Last, any sound lost to the outside is sound not remaining within the vehicle. All of that bass exiting the vehicle is bass not making it to the listener inside of the vehicle. Which is bad. Which reverts back to my second point. Terribly sorry its an "idiotic goal." My intentions are not exactly motivated to disturb the peace. I've heard systems passing on the streets and I enjoy listening to the loud ones driving by also enjoying how those same cars sound in the inside of the vehicle.

Ya i realized that after i bought it..i just thought bigger was better, but now i know thats not the case.

I'll try and size it up on the next box..the other one barely fit, but is there anything I can do to make it any better anyways besides building a bigger box?

I recently bought a hifionics brutus amp and the blue hifionics loogo works, but the power led does not come on. The manual said if this happens theirs not enough power going through the remote wire and said to use a jumper wire and connect it to the 12V+? Im not exactly sure what to do, and i def dont wanna take my chances and screw it up. Can someone tell me what to do?

I guess ill try that temporarily, could i just keep unpluggin the wire when my cars off? And this isnt going to mess up my amp and blow the fuses right?

Well im in my garage right now trying to decide if i should make a 5" slot port tuned to 32hz, a 4" slot port tuned to 31hz, or a 3" tuned to 27hz... Im using the RE calculator to build a box and when im looking at the 5" port it says the Volume internal, and volume displaced is 2000...on the others its 1500 and below..i have no idea what this means, is it how loud the box will be or what..Which port u think i should design???Also the larger the port the less box volume i have..its been between 3.6-4ft3..i cant make a bigger box so let me kno which port is gonna be the best!! PS. the box i have been running is below 1000 volume internal and displaced, so im guessing the higher the number the greater the sound???i could be wrong..

well what should i do then i cant build a bigger box, should i build the small port or a larger port????????

So my amp outputs 3500watts, but its fuses are only 3X30amp so 90 amps which is what 900 watt rms or something around that???? so whats gonna happen if i set it higher then what the fuses can take. I really want to set them higher since i got the bad boy 18 Fi BL.

Ight so saying that is it safe to say i can turn my amps input level max and the fuses wont blow???

Its a Boss cx 3500 its a decent amp nothing special...And it gets 3500rms at 1 ohm and 2100rms at 2 ohms,,btw what does clipping your amp mean???

Well I measured out a box already that will fit the trunk its 30' deep/ 23' wide/ 17' tall, but i have about 19' of height, 32' of depth, and 25' wide to work with in the trunk. So basically I need a box around those measurements more or less, the only thing i worried about is getting it inside the trunk when its built. If anyone has any suggestions to what I should go with to max out the performance such as cubic ft and hz please feel free to post your oppinions. Also I think it would be good to tell you guys my expectations. I want it to sound loud and hit hard inside the car, but also very deep on the outside so you can hear me COMING!!!

I have my 18 bl and my car now so im ready to construct my box to fit my trunk. Ill be running the sub and amp at 1000rms at 32mhz. The trunk has alot of space but im worried about putting the box into the trunk so if anyone can give me the proper dimensions for 32hz please let me know and does anone know a good calculator tool for this so i can calculate the port size also? So my amp is 3500watts and my alt only puts out 90amps....so if i hook those up is my amp gonna draw as much power as it can, or does it only draw a certain amount of power depending on how much i turn up my subwoofer?......................................Actually i just took a look at my amp and their is a level control im guessing for the power of the amp,,,,,,,,,,,,so ill just adjust that,,,,but can anyone tell me what the max rms i should put out ????

its a fi bl 18 duel 2 ohm,,, in the booklet my amp came with it says rms power into 4 ohms = 1200wx1_________rms power into 2 ohms = 1700wX1____________Rms power into 1 ohm= 3500wx1,,,,,,but you guys are telling me that it really doesnt put that much out???why do they put that in specifications then its messed up>.......

its not 3500watt rms its 3500watts total, at 2 ohms is produces about 1700 rms which my sub is 2 ohm...the brand is boss and its a CX3500D chaos extreme class D monoblock..the amp is overrated thus why i bought a 3500watt,,,, the fuse is 30A x 3,,also someone reccomended that i run it at 1 ohm,,,to do that will i only hook my wires to only 1 set of the imputs and outputs from the sub right? Or do you think i should hook it as 2 ohm? ..im new to all this stuff

hahaha im sorry i cause so much trouble but im intrested in subwoofers even though i have no clue about them...Im just trying to learn more about them...and btw i messed up on the big 3 someone told me the wrong info b4,,but ne ways its a Boss CX3500D runs at about 3500w and 2100RMS at 2 ohms,,i kno its not a good amp but it was in my price range..i had to buy over powerd becuz bosses are overrated...if you can help any plz do. O and as for the car i dont have it yet hahahah.....im picking it up this morning its my grad present, but once i get it ill re edit this form.
