You can if you want. 1/0 is always best.

So what about you Sander? Im guessing no. Did you mean only ciggs too?

Its very useless as he posted this twice and hes not responding to this one. Other thread is the good one. This topic can be closed anytime.

Actually the D4's can be wired to 1.33334 ohms, I dont know how I just know they can. My friend has 3-12" CVRs tuned to 30 Hz and bangs but he has some funky wiring, me and the local car audio shop were suprised because we didnt think he was wired that low and sure damn was. Id love to see how but are you sure they werent svc? I never heard that before but there is a first time for everything.

I didnt get the pm but sent you one. Very interesting chop! Im game.

I dont smoke ciggs anymore. Quit those things about 7-8 years ago. I just figured I wasnt getting anything from it besised my nicotine fix. Which was created by the smokes. Its a viscous circle. I do smoke weed though everyday. I have a legal script also. Smoking in any form isnt good, but I might as well get high from smoke instead of addicted to nicotine. Plus a few cigars every now and then but I never inhaled!

You should put this post in the for sale/wanted section. It will get more eyes there I bet.

Looking for a new setup
bigrank916 replied to Eric Steagall's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I bought mine on sale for $300 back in early summer I believe. Of course you can add a second battery and big amps, thats what its for. Battery banks are essential to big systems 3k watts and over. I only have one batt at the moment and my system handles it just fine. DC power makes some fine alts, I hear. They are no sloutch but neither is Mechman. There is a lot more companies than just DC. Your friend is sucking on the teet, if you will. -

DC power, Mechman, Ohio, Iraggi(if hes still around) Those are some good alts off the top of my head. I have a Mechman 250 amp and I love it. -
Probably about 6.75 ft3 after all displacements at 36hz would be good chop. Check that. If he has no interest in the lows and just wants it loud then about 40-45hz. Ive always like the slot port. Both rear firing sounds like a good place to start. The D2's will wire to 1.34ohms and the D4's will be 2.67ohms. Hopefully his amp is 1 ohm stable. Btw thanks for the pics dude. Got any more?

Ok I understand now. You should have said you have solobarics. Ive had one myself and from what everyone says, they tend to have the same sound no matter what. I have to agree. An Fi driver will be a HUGE upgrade in the sound you are looking for. You can get a fully loaded 18" BTL and the 2000D for about $1100-1200. You might as well go with the 2000D for an extra $115. They would be a perfect match! Im pairing mine with the SAE1200D. It is on preorder right now for only $280 and it can do well over 1200 watts in the right conditions. Jacob (owner Sundown Audio) had it to about 1600-1700 watts I believe on his clamp tests. -

Im guessing you are an SQ kind of guy then. Not worried about numbers on a termlab or having the loudest bass possible. Well I dont think you are looking at the right driver for what you want then. The BTL is considered one of the top SPL drivers on the market. Are looking to stick with only Fi? If so the Q or the BL might be more in your range. Or maybe even the SSD's. What kind of budget are you working with? -

That a very subjective question. There is a lot of factors to determine "how that would sound". But if its done right, it will be very loud if thats what you are looking for. Why are there 2 posts of the same thing. No bueno dude. I don't know why it's up their twice. My bad I didn't mean to post it twice. I guess I should have asked if The fi btl and the sundown 1500 are going to work well together. Like is the sundown 1500 powerfull enough for the btl? Oh ya. Plenty. In the right conditions that amp will do close to 2000 watts. That BTL is a monster and can handle more than 2000 watts. Its not indestructable though. It has its limits as does everything else. -
I have never used the high-level input in my life but why not use low with rca's and ditch that stock deck? I would. Having a bigger box will give you a more boomy type response while a smaller one will have a tight bass response.

You should always check the resting voltage when you recieve the battery. If its not up to par, then yes you should charge it. Id probably let them know if it wasnt just to cover your ass.

Even though the alt is new, is it enough? Maybe with all those systems running, it cant handle it. What is the amp rating on the alt you put in? The OEM alt might not be enough. But with only 300 watts, thats sounds pretty crazy doesnt it?

Very nice ride dude. You didnt feel like going for the black wheels eh? Screens in each headrest for a daily driver and its not too extreme? lol. X2 on those MTX's. How do you like them?

Your input on my component system
bigrank916 replied to deanmpereira's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
In my experience of riding in the back seat of someones car with a nice stereo it has been way to loud. Usually the speakers are so close to you its deafening. I have a silverado as well and the rear pillars shoot that speaker right into the side of your dome being in the back. Id ditch the rears and go with a better set up front if it was me. Ive heard the same thing about having more than 2 tweeters like ///M5 said. In that truck, with the right positioning, 2 should be plenty loud and clear. -
Sundown where you have never seen it before...
bigrank916 replied to Jshak07's topic in Sundown Audio
Thats what I was thinking. Im guessing that would be you and your friend with the Xcon eh? Spread the good word dude! -
That person really should have checked themselves before sending out that crap. I used to work for a warehouse in the shipping dept and it doesnt take a whole lot of common sense to figure out how to pack something properly. Seeing how the UPS guys load the truck while we were watching let you know how rough the trip was going to be. A 70 pound driver in foam peanuts! I even included a letter with my polkmomo sub while it was getting reconed to please send the driver back in the same box I sent it to them in. It was a very nice one that Jacob used on the Z15. Of course I dont get a call, email, letter or anything but instead the new package on my doorstep without my box. What aholes!

I thought you were going somewhere else with this but ok. -
Usually you arent going to get those really low notes to be very loud. Its more what you can feel with the lower frequencies. More output means you should have tried to port the SE first. Like KU40 said, if output is what you will be looking for, then you should port it. The lows are always going to be there with an FI sub, granted you dont tune the box too high.
-
You should do a load test on the alt. 300 watts is not nearly enough to do that.
-
Silicone will do.
