So my main objective, I believe is getting the upper kicks and bass lines in my system ( aren't those the frequencies that make you feel it in your chest & the tightness?)while keeping the lows...is it possible? Or am i asking too much from my mainstream systems? lol Thnx, Breeze The frequencies that you are feeling in your chest are the lower ones. They generate more pressure in the cabin of your car. The higher frequencies are louder. Thats why spl comps have higher tuning on their drivers. These generally hurt your ears more. I think if you built a new ported box, you will get a better mix. Try something like 4.5ft3 enclosure tuned around 35hz.

Well if you are on a super budget the Hifonics is a good place to start. If you can keep the voltage up, it will do fine. Here is another amp that is a little less than the Sundown but more than the Hifonics. It is regarded much better than the Hifonics as well. http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps.htm

I cant believe those presentations are real. I remember some teachers being really cool and letting kids go pretty far with it. That girl is hilarious.

Better now that i scrolled up and saw those pics! Lol.

Prefab boxes are known to have high tuning areas around 40-50hz. So no, they wont produce the low bass notes you are looking for.

Thats a perty lookin sub you got there. Im interested to see a build log as well for this. I didnt know these were so highly rated. Nice to know.

Welcome dude. It sounds like you know what you are after. That will be a good step to people helping you here. -
can you put a 7 groove belt on a 6 groove pulley?
bigrank916 replied to loondizie52's topic in General Audio
Hope nothing bad happened to your alt. The size of the pulley makes a huge difference in the revolutions of the alt. The smaller pulley might have caused the alt to spin too many revs. I dont know for sure but thats why they are custom made. -
Four sub wiring
bigrank916 replied to Outbacksound's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can wire all four together at 2ohms while bridging the amp. You should try this option if your amp is 2ohm stable. Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel -

I hope the pulleys were the same size. -
KHC 16V or KHC 2000 Power Cell????
bigrank916 replied to wof131s's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I havent heard very good things about the KHC 16V. The amp will get the voltage from the alt anyway. If it is doing its job then the amp should be plenty powered. A 230 amp h/o alt should be holding in the 14's. Do you have 1/0 wiring? -
That sounds like a combo of an SAE1200D and an Xcon.

Im not too familiar with it personally but I know that is the site that ///M5 has on his sig. It cant be shit if hes promoting it. If you wanted those instead of SPL tiles, you should have said so in the sig.

That link doesnt work. You dont have to do more than one layer if you dont want to. If you want to cut down on labor I highly suggest you buy the roller with the deadener. It helps a lot.

Looks pretty sweet. Are you going to put some kinda lights in there or is it going to be dark?
