Checked out the tweeters and they dont work anymore! Plugged them into a couple different amps and receivers...nothing. Worked perfect, the last time they were playing in their mock enclosures. They were super cheap so Im not really out too much. Just wish I knew why they dont work anymore. Have some Vifa textile dome tweeters on backorder through parts-express but it was pushed back again. Now I will miss my shipping deadline for the Autorama this coming weekend. Oh well, I guess I'll just be a spectator.

That enclosure is saaweeet with the frosted plexi! Definately very nice. Im tuned in...

Good looking plans for the enclosure. Whos going to be building it Chop? The driver looks good too. I havent had any experience with them but it looks solid. Rubber or foam surround?

Here are a few pictures that I thought I would post from this weeks trip to Oregon. I took a friend and his son that are visiting from Arkansas to look for property around the coast and had a blast. Hotel we stayed in. A shot from across the way. It had a pretty decent view overlooking the ocean. This was interesting... The best part of the whole trip. I havent ever had an interest in ATVs until the sand dunes. Now I want one and will plan trips up there just for that! 8 miles long and like 4 miles wide. I love that place. Going back ASAP! This is his son. Hes about six foot and 155 lbs. That tree is a small one where we were. Gigantic redwoods are pretty awesome!

First, have you checked all wiring leads to make sure all connections are good? After testing the volts with a dmm, did you try to hook it up again? If so, did it do the same thing?

Nothing is ever right if you are looking at max ratings. Max ratings are a marketing ploy to get people to think they are getting tons of watts. In reality its a bunch of . So no, you wont get 4k rms for $189. Its not possible. You will get max, which is what they are advertising.

Actually it says this: 4/8-gauge power and ground leads recommended. 4 being the largest and 8 being the smallest.

It doesn't matter how basic the question is this is a forum, of course there website is gonna say it's true wattage that's why i ask. It matters if you can find the answer yourself. Thats annoying. If their site tells you its true specs, then why would you ask? Do you think theyre lying?

Got ya, thanks man. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Any idea what size fuse I should run in between the alt/batt? I'm running 1000w RMS and I don't plan on exceeding that. You can fuse there if you like but make sure to keep extra fuses in case you blow one. It would suck to be stranded because of a blown fuse. I dont fuse there so Im not familiar with how large you should use.

Im assuming you are testing at the amp with the car on, right? What kind of amp is it also?

In my experience the expensive RCAs dont do shit. The cheap ones do the same job with the same performance. I get the cheapest possible and havent ever had a problem.

Again, I would leave all stock wires alone. Just add the new ones even if you have to make a new grounding point.

Look the model number up on any search engine and you can find a link to tell you the specs. Just curious but why are you posting such basic questions that you can find on the net yourself?

Leave those wires alone. Just add new ones. Neg batt to chass and chassis to engine block. Block ground is fine. Are you not doing the pos wire?

No, we didnt have too much time to sight see. We were only there for about a day and half and needed much more time to see what Oregon has to offer. A lot of my pictures were out the window of the car, driving down the highways! I do remember seeing the elk though. That was nutz! They hang out right next to the road when you drive by. We turned around thinking it wasnt real. Stared at em for about a minute till I seen them blink. OH shit, they are real! Of course my camera was dead and Im right next to an 800lb monster thats not moving! Perfect moment blown!
