I thought i'd never see the day... I have to admit, when I saw the guy with the screen name "the dude" here, I was pretty jealous that I didnt use it. What the hell was I thinking?! Been using mine since 10th grade...even though Im not as big as some of you fuckers out there! And no, its not a self given moniker. Another crappy movie would be...pretty much anything with Brandon Frasier.

Open Sea? Open Ocean or something? It was fucked up. I was waiting for nothing. Sucked.

Every time I see a joker with a wing on his rice burner, it gives me great joy. I mean, its there for a reason guys. If it wasnt, it would obviously start to have lift because of the incredible thrust! -
Thats all that matters too!

Find a local shop and hopefully you can score there. Its usually tough to find unless you go to a comp.

Help with Elecrical

Btw, welcome dude. -
Have you tried the JL site? It can be pretty helpful. JL Audio Finding the port area is as simple as L x W. So if your port opening is 4"W x 20"H, you will have 80in2 of port area. For 12-16 rule, a 5ft3 enclosure would be fine up the the 16 mark. 5 x 16= 80in2

Just contact Rusty to make sure man. But I would think you can just solder them straight on.

Help with Elecrical

First off, it would be wise to do the big 3 in 1/0 wire. Then install a voltmeter. Try it from there and see what kind of voltage dips you get to know how much farther to go when you install the 1500D. -
Thats a nice score dude. Seems like the enclosure is a little large though and you are running right on the edge, tuning wise. The lower notes arent going to be very loud anyway. Its the higher notes that peak your hearing.

Cant believe I have missed this one! Im lovin that front stage right now. Superb job on those pods dude! :drink40:Im really glad I could help, even if it was only to boost your confidence. Looks like Im going to have to step it up. A three way huh?...Nice. -
I saw that in the video as well. Good catch. Its pretty easy to see with the front and rear driver side speakers. Nice looking setup though. Just seems like its a little bulky back there for some reason.

Welcome dude.

Thank you. With all the power you plan to use, it should be loud as hell with whatever ones you choose. If you plan on getting stupid loud eventually, then you might as well go for the BTLs now and add more down the line if you feel like it. Just make sure you have the alty and such to back this up.

Two Dcons in a sealed enclosure might do you fine.
-
Congrats. You will love it.

My first instinct is to say the SSDs but I wouldnt be suprised at all if it was the BTLs. Its going to be install dependent also.

Don is an awesome guy as well. He advised me NOT to buy his product based on the goals I was trying to achieve. Ie, increase spl as much as possible to the ear and meter. Not every business man will tell you what you need to hear, instead of what you want to hear.

Cool, are you satisfied with it? What was the output of your stock alt? Before mine finally failed it was running like a champ, 140amp alt, but it was 15 years old and I imagine that I put quite a bit of stress on it so it was only a matter of time before it failed. I just didn't expect it to take out a few electrical circuits when it did (turns out they are really sensitive to voltage ) Im very satisfied with it. I believe my stock alt was about 80-85 amps and I had epic headlight dimming BEFORE I installed the BTL. After installation of big 3 in 1/0 and the Mechman alt, I get hardly any dimming at all and my voltage stays in the mid to high 13s at almost full tilt. This is with one battery too. I still have my old one just in case because there wasnt anything wrong with it. I was looking at Iraggi but at that time he had disappeared and I wasnt too sure what was happening. Now that he is back and trying to make up for poor customer service during his sabbatical, I think I might give the 180 amp a try for my geo. I wanted his from the start because they all have higher output at idle versus Mechman. For my vehicles anyway.
