Im ready as well! Its killin me to know how high it hits. Ive never tested any system before and its got to be the loudest by ear Ive had. Hard to say when the BTL was in my truck. Iraggi has the largest, I believe, with 180 amps...at idle! Mix in some Deka 9A31s for budget or a couple XS Power batts like you mentioned. Is it me or is XS considered one of, if not the best out there? Not off at all actually. I should spend a little less.

That's interesting considering how many amplifier's I've used in my personal stereo system with the gain turned "all the way down" and still managed to be able to drive the speakers past the point of listenability. Where to set the gain is a function of several different factors. Random and inaccurate comments like the above aren't really helpful to anybody. True, I was being a smart ass. Although I've had quite the opposite experience when turning the gain all the way down. I hear nothing.

So what exactly does that allow you to do? Change the output voltage? How do you adjust it? Yes. If you bought an alternator from Mechman with an external voltage regulator, there will be a small red metal piece on the back. On that, there is a set screw to adjust the voltage from 14.4 - 17 or 18 volts. I cant remeber off hand exactly how high it goes but its enough.

right now it's looking like I'll put the front stage in the roof facing strait down. No one is gonna like it, but I'm ok with it. There's no spcae in the doors without being muffled by the seats or people's legs. I have to modify the dash in the VAN too, cuz the Alpine double din is too big..looks like the factory is din and 1/2? IDK...I'll dig deeper when I get there...but I doubt I'll do an all new dash again. So the roof panel I put in, another 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" MDF... I'll put all the way to the front, bend it down 2" so it comes to the bottom of the frame where the windshield connects. Tweeters on the outside, then FRs, then Exts. Well as long as it sounds good to you and performs the way you need it to, then go for it dude! There isnt any uniform laws of how to do this hobby. Everybody builds different stuff and thats what makes it so interesting. Lets keep these pics comin so you can open another PB account!!!

Yeah after seeing you upgrade it was that time and also my friend wanted a sub and nice enclosure so I said why not. These last two days I have been installing his system, Im about to go finish everything up and seal the inside of this box since he finally got the hole cut in it. By tomorrow or Monday I will actually hear the Z15 in a box, I only tested it a few times in free air off the SAX-125.2 and enjoyed it. Im upset cause I was so close to having bass but now the wait will keep going, at least Im working on my front stage. You already know plans stay changing, I have some equipment coming this week so its time to keep this build going. I want to be on your level man I honestly still love my Z15. Its in the garage now, still in the enclosure, being used as a table! Along with my Hertz 12s! It is an outstanding driver and your friend will no doubt enjoy it. It sucks to go without slump for that long too. I feel your pain dude! Ya, I know plans are constantly changing. Its always costin me more money! Haha. I see your eyeing a new nightshade now. The Z15 is nice but...it doesnt quite hold a candle to the NS's! Great pic bro. Your trunk lid will be slappin hard! Thanks jaycee. I dont think Im too dope yet though! A little update for Chop. Hes workin 12 hour days and suuuper busy right now. A house full in Indy takes a lot of work sometimes and hes all over it guys. He will update soon. Hopefully real soon, as I am anxious like all of you! Chop sends his regards to the IAK and SSA fam!

This van is getting there. Its very interesting. The old front stage looks a little whacky but Im glad its not going in there. What kind of ideas for the new front stage do you have now?
