Got the HU wires figured out and it powered up. Gonna install the rcas cables and remote wire today if it stops raining. Had a question about the 80PRS. It says to flip the DSP switch from standard mode to network mode if using multiple amps. Then reset the microprocessor. How would one go about doing that? I think I figured out the alarm/locking/light prob tho. Door switch on the driver side must be bad. I get door ajar messages on the dash when the door is closed and driving. That is coming on Monday. Now that I've got a few things fixed electrically this build should pick up speed along with the good weather.

Indecision between FI Q Neo and FI BTL Neo
bigrank916 replied to DoozeyMontana's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Actually the Q can be ported or sealed. The BTL is ported only. Never heard the Q but I owned a BTL about 10 years ago and it was the best sub I'd ever had. If you like to bang pretty loud and enjoy some earth shaking lows, I'd go with a BTL. -
Been slowly getting at this build as the new year comes along. I installed the new headliner and it looks great. Still trying to find the damn wires to hook up the HU tho. I bought a new Bosch OEM alt for it and installed that about a month ago as well because the old one failed even tho it wasn't being driven. 18 years old tho so it went thru its lifespan I guess.

Everything has been sent except for the mids that are still on back order. I really appreciate you guys taking care of that. Thank you!

1800woofers order #1909 SSA order #22130
-
I leave my cell number each time I've left a voicemail and I checked my account info which also has the right number. Something must be wrong. I'm confused as to how long the back order has been in effect. Is this since before Christmas?? That's when ordered mine. So no one has received the 4 ohm evil mids or tweets since then? NVX amp is good to go?? Does that mean the amp is in stock or not? Was it on back order before? If it wasn't back ordered, why wasn't it shipped out when I ordered it in Nov? Please include a bit more detail as to why I've been waiting so long. RCAs don't mean much w/o the amp they were purchased for but that's quite a wait for them. I've checked my spam folder leading back to the beginning of Feb. No email from SSA or 1800woofers.

I'm having a hard time getting someone from SSA to contact me about my orders. I've left 2 voicemails on Mon and Tues. Called back Weds but no answer and sent an email on Friday. I also used the online form a few months ago to ask about changing my order if something was on back order but got no response. I'm assuming the items I'm waiting for are on back order? 1 set of evil mids and tweets plus RCAs on one order and an NVX amp on the other. I can still purchase the amp and tweets today which tells me it shouldn't be on back order right? Confused here. I have had zero notification on when these items might arrive too. I purchased them in late Nov and Dec. Someone please give me a heads up as to whats goin on. Thank you

Should I not try to use it?

Always the strong voice of reason. And no idk lol

Would I benefit at all by getting an Alpine H701/C701 processor for my 80PRS head unit? I prob don't need it but I want it lol

Thanks guys I've always wanted the SSA line. I bought an Icon for my daughter but she blew that so it needs a recone which I will be attempting someday. Now I will have my own So far I have the tweets, mids, and the sub amp. Still waiting on the rest but not needed yet. Reassembled some of the interior now. Just floorboards and front seats. Need to keep everything else open so I can run some wires under the center console. I thot about running them under the floor but decided against it. I will be running all my own wires to the speakers and bought plenty of that and new RCAs. I have a lot of old stuff but I wanted to go fresh on this build to make sure I had no issues with crap wiring. I also picked up a 500 amp relay isolator. No I really didn't need one that big but it was cheaper than the 200 amp, go figure lol. I would like to keep the stereo on it own battery since this car has so much shit in the electrical dept already. I will be using a XS D3100 in the rear for the isolator so hopefully this will keep me from buying a HO alt for $800 that wouldn't be useful if I sell the car or get rid of it. The D3100 always can transfer I guess. Also grabbed some thermal barrier for the headliner. Once that comes in I can reattach the headliner and hopefully that goes smoothly. I've been dreading that part of reassembly the most...

Welcome to SSA. Kind of a hard question to answer. That could go a lot of different ways. What kind of setup are you looking for? I have the same head unit and Im doing a two way active with a sub. 2 mids, 2 highs, and a sub basically.
-
Insanely great idea with those adjustable pods!! Looking good dude!
-
Welcome to SSA dude! I have the same car but 1 year older. Damn dash kit for the aftermarket stereo was like $200 for that car or I would build a system in that one too lol. Good luck with the build. Those Soundqubed woofers look nice.

Ok so I had some down time these last few months on this project due to construction going on around my house and not having the usual space to work in. Sucks tho cause now its gonna be cold and rainy but I wanna get this done bad! I just pulled the trigger tonight on all the goodies. Besides the new alt/batt if needed and wire etc, I will have everything I need to finish this build. Time to get crackin! 2017 TEAM EVIL Free Air Video
bigrank916 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Well its gone from the store now. I had my eye on the demo model that was D1. I always wanna go big but I'm gonna keep it to 2k watts instead of 5k. I think the 15" Xcon will fit the power and needs quite nicely. -

What is the optimal ported enclosure size for the 18" Team Evil? If I can fit it, I just might do it. -
I've been waiting to purchase one of these but it never becomes available in the SSA store. Is there any timeline for it or should I give up hope? I could maybe find it elsewhere but I like shopping here
-
Heard nothing but good things and at the price point of $600 for 3.5k watts, it's a hell of a deal. Is this an early next year kinda timetable? If not I'd think I would just get the SSA IC2200.1 instead. Black Friday month is here and I'm ready to burn up the wallet

I decided to make a present for the old man and I know he loves small bookshelf speakers that really rock. He listens to pretty much only classic rock. I was on parts express and found a nice set of 2 way boxes for cheap. I'd like to use those as the reviews on them look pretty decent. It gave recommendations for the driver and tweeter to use and I'll be getting those as well. Only thing I wasn't sure of was crossovers etc. What else do I need to buy to put this all together? Here are the links to what I'm getting. Bookshelf boxes https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-br-1cab-br-1-6-1-2-2-way-speaker-cabinet-pair--300-645 Drivers https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-dc160s-8-6-1-2-classic-shielded-woofer--295-306 Tweeters https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-dc28fs-8-1-1-8-silk-dome-shielded-tweeter--275-075 If you know of anything similar that would sound better than this I'd love to hear about it. As I mentioned before, building a home audio setup is new to me. I only know how to plug the shit in
-
Holy shit those are some crazy daily drivers lol. Godspeed towards 160DBs bro!!
-
So that was your daily driver??? I thot this was just a comp vehicle. Damn that sucks tho. Did you scrap the box or keep it?

Recommended subs for old school mini truck
bigrank916 replied to yayo86's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
2.85cuft each looks way too big for a sealed enclosure for those drivers. Idk about the earthquake but a single 10" type R is about 1cuft sealed for Alpines recommendations. I'd start with building new enclosures before spending more money on new subs. -
I found this question and hoped someone here might know what this might be. Any ideas? I'm thinking of a car. Has 3 generations. 2nd generation is the best. 2nd generation Came out in Europe in 2005 and hit the states in 2006-2010 Car has between "400-600hp" stock(not listing exact hp that would be too easy) . Its known for very high end speeds. Not a 0-60 car but it murders on the freeway. Hint: Its not turbo charged or supercharged.
