    5Hz - 10Hz vids

The box is tuned to around 27Hz at the moment. With the btm half of the port sealed off the system will tune around 22Hz (haven`t done this yet) But it`s good to have the option there Will hopefully have some SPL figures this weekend.

    5Hz - 10Hz vids

Hello all. This is taken from my site. So the smileys might be different. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well I was supposed to be working on my car today. I didn`t Decided to wire up the Directed 1100d to the system an got carried away with the bass. Woah!!! Played SLAM & I nearly had a heart attack!!! :help: The bass is absolutely mental :earmuffs: :earmuffs: My missus ran out of the house to say the whole house was vibrating So there`s me sat in the car listening to the tunes at a much lower volume setting now. I did a few videos too. Sorry about the quality - the video doesn`t do the system justice. This video lasts for 3 minutes or so. 5 & 10Hz excursion 10Hz Excursion This one for 30 Secs or so. And get this... I`ve yet to turn it past Vol 21 :dizzy2: :earmuffs: :earmuffs:  The excursion goes even more that. I`ll have to take it somewhere, where I can`t upset anyone and do another video... From what I`ve heard so far. I think the system will be hitting 150dB quite easily with even 3 or 4k yet alone 10k

Don`t forget it`s only 250wrms per sub in these Vids.

If you are using a ported enclosure then tune closer to the Fs of the sub. It will lose Peak SPL But the lower frequencies will be louder & over a wider range of frequencies.

    Just ordered 4x 12" Baby Mags :)

My 4x 12" baby Magnums are on their way... Not sure how I `m going to install them in the Vectra. I`m not bothered about Peak SPL and prefer to have a system that plays low frequencies very loud. I`m aiming for over 140dB @ 20Hz in a trunk / boot install. Should easily do it with an I.S.O. set up. Using 2x MMATTS amps. Each pair of subs will be getting about 1400wrms. (2800wrms) Photo`s when I get started. Got to finish the Escort 1st. Just like to thank "Sundown Audio" for all their help as well

    Magnum Wall nearly completed :)

Hello all I`ve been busy today Managed to get some time to do some work on the car Here is the wall so far... For those of you who do not know the SPEC: 26.5 Cu.Ft. Wall 197 Sq In of port area. Tuned to 27Hz & can be tuned lower too. (Adjustable port blockers) 4x Stereo Integrity MAG 15" Subwoofers 1x Adassa Audio BARBARIAN amplifier Looks as though everything is going to fit nicely. Check out the Spkr cable to the Right hand side of the Plywood Amp L.O.L It`s 4awg - just because it was a nice shade of purple. (I have a thing for PURPLE) All the Spkr cables in the box are 8awg & are connected to the 4awg. I struggled today - trying to get the subs in without damaging them - very awkward and they are quite heavy. I nearly pierced the foam surround of one of the subs. I feel sorry for those people who have really heavy subs. My back aches now & my subs only weigh in @ around 13kg Oh and you can just about make out the TV when the boots shut. The TV will actually lift up to a more better viewing angle when the boot is opened Anyway should be able to do a bit more tomorrow ;D....

    BM 12" sale

Hello there. I`d like to have 4 of these subs if possible. How can I go about doing that? Don`t forget. I live in the U.K. Thanks. Regards. Marcos
  9. Sorry it`s a JBL sub - But I do not have any MAG 12" Yet... Anyway this will give you a good idea of what an ISO set up does. The following text is taken from my Forum: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- O.K. Get ready because you are about to see one of the worse looking installs ever. I`ve not bothered doing anything special because my boot space is regularly taken up with power tools / tools / bags of sand etc. So there you go. No point in having a nice looking install that will get messed up within a few weeks. Anyway what I did today whilst at work was... ...add another 12" JBL GT4 sub mounted onto the face of the other one that was already there. This is known as Isobaric (clam shell method). Here are the results. Normal: Peak= 135.3dB @ 46Hz 40Hz= 133.9dB 33Hz= 130.7dB 25Hz= 129.5dB 20Hz= 131.2dB 10Hz= 123.6dB ((((Ground Pounders)))) = 115.1dB Total ((((Propper Droppers)))) Score = 129.2dB Isobaric: Peak= 134.8dB @ 33Hz 40Hz= 133.3dB 33Hz= 134.8dB 25Hz= 133.8dB 20Hz= 134.0dB 10Hz= 126.7dB ((((Ground Pounders)))) = 113.0dB Total ((((Propper Droppers)))) Score = 130.4dB ;DI`m very impressed. ;D So there`s actually a drop in Peak loudness. But overall the lower frequencies are much, much louder than before and over a flatter range too. Notice how the peak frequency in Hz, has dropped so much. 46Hz down to 33Hz It sounds mental now. So much louder by ear than it sounded before ;D NOW JUST IMAGINE WHAT AN ISOBARIC WALL WOULD BE LIKE??? ...And I`ve plenty of room to do it in my Escort ;D

    Magnum Wall nearly completed :)

Yes. We Brits are a bit crazy. L.O.L. There seems to be a split in the SPL now as lots of people are now building systems that can drop bass to silly low frequencies rather than going for high peaking SPL only vehicles. dB drags BASSRACE has become very popular - which is good. ...And I have started the ((((Propper Droppers)))) SPL Testing format (It`s not a competiton) which caters for the low hitters. Hey! Maybe someone could start a USA ((((Propper Droppers)))) SPL Testing League? .... If you want some info - check this link. http://streetbassers.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=24.0 Note things are being updated so some of the Leagues are being changed slightly.

Thanks guys I prefer my system to drop low - play as flat as possible & be very loud with it. I`m aiming for 150dB+ @ 20Hz I`ll be the 1st person in the U.K. to officially hit that dB score @ that low frequency if I can do it in dB drag competition. I got very close with my last system 148.2dB@ 20Hz in the dB drag Position - which wasn`t a wall. If it doesn`t hit the 150dB @ 20Hz then I`ll get another 4x Magnums & run them ISO - Clamshell.

Anyone tried Isobaric (Clamshell method SPKR Mounting)

This method has worked very well in my Vectra. I did not reduce the size of the box at all. The box is 2.5 Cu.ft 4" Aeroport Tuning to 27Hz I guess it works well because of the following. Having two drivers working parallel with each other in this way provides more control since you have two motor structures which have more control over the speakers movement. (It sounds better - transient response is very good) Also having Two Cones & Two motor structures lowers the Fs of the subs - Naturally they drop lower but still keeping a very respectable loudness. Now I`m thinking... ...In the same box I had a Mag12" (Not mine) - And that was hitting 140.5dB @ 46Hz So with ISO mounting it should be around 138dB @ 33Hz - 137dB+ @ 20Hz - Now that`s quite LOUD for a very small boxed system & 1100wrms
  13. Mega Heavy Bass

How much is too much for a mag?

Yep Ported is the way to go. I was running 4x 15" Mags using 2x Powerbass XA-3000D running @ 0.5 ohm load - Had no problems at all

    My First walled system :)

You may have seeen this: ...and this ...and this Well it`s gone! - And I wondered where I had put that Grouting Spreader - It was left underneath the box for some reason :? Smashed up!! What!? A 4"x2" stud partition in the car (mad person)

    My First walled system :)

More strengthening work: Trying things out - with a bit of help from the little Bass Monster The wall is 80% installed (regarding the system being able to function). A close up of the port - It`s still not finished though. Box is 26.5 Cu.Ft. tuned to 27Hz & 22Hz with the additional port blockers

The port: Note: The curved / Rounded off edges. There`s a little monster! More port:

    Introducing the first SSA subwoofer

This sounds very interesting. Oh No! A silly Question: Will these subs perform better than my 4x 15" Mags? I`m now doing a new build (Will post it up in a mo) 26.5 Cu.ft Box - 27Hz tuning - The port takes up 2.8Cu.ft

Oh Here`s a pic of my Daily Driver: VECTRA SRi: The boot or trunk contains a single 12" Mag and was running off an Incriminator Audio 20.1. The box is 2.5 Cu.ft. The port has a 4" Aeroport which is tuning the box to 27Hz It drops really low - Hits Hard & hits on the mic: 142.9dB with the Incriminator 20.1 142.1dB with an old Directed 1100d (Nearly a dB difference when you lose 700watts or so)

O.K. Heres my car: Most of these pictures were taken before my tailgate hinge snapped. And they were taken before I entered the dB drag comp. The box is 19 Cu.ft. Contains 3x 6" Aeroports and is tuned to around 33Hz at the moment. I`m waiting for two more 6" Aeroports then I`ll tune the box to 27Hz & really wobble the car bits l.o.l.

This is part of my post taken from the Talk Audio site from the U.K. Who are these people??? Well I `m a very happy chappie:D . / Sorry about the quality here I got two trophies for my efforts. Which allows me to have one of these things. Thanks to Stereo Integrity Subs & PowerBass Amps and a bit of work by me. CLUB 150dB+ In qualifying I hit a personal best and a proper official dB drag score of over 150dB. 151.7dB And as for BASS RACE:D 149.6dB And I still havent turned it up full yet & the bass is still on 0. More to come... / ...I think so Van Dave did very well hitting I think 156.1dB

Yep 151.7dB in Super Street 3-4 - Using 1 battery - oopse And... 149.6dB in BASS RACE!!! I have the LOUDEST BASS RACE car in the U.K. thanks to your MAG'S Still gots loads to do. I only have about 80 Sq Inches of port area. So that`s getting more. Must remember to connect the other batteries when I go through the SPL lane. Double DOH! The volume still hasn`t been turned up full. I was playing at Vol 27 out of 35 & the bass is also on 0 out of 7. I`ll turn it up at the next event. :-) Oh and ignore the date thingy on the photos - I forgot to set it. DOH!
