Old Rockford Fosgate Amps ?
bigger_george posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Anyone know anything about these old series 1 amps? Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp, Series 1 4060x with high and low crossovers - $50 shipped (4x30wrms@4ohms, 4x60wrms@2ohms, 2x180wrms@4ohms) I'm not sure that such an old amp has the best crossovers for SQ purposes but just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with em and whether pricewize was even worth it. -
If you want it to hit lower, do the 15". The SQ shouldn't really differ at all.

I've only dealt with a mag 12 and a brahma 15" and i think the Brahma is a smoother sound. Mag is definitely easier to get punchier.

Welcome Aboard Kicker! B) About time another board got your services except some other unnamed, overgrown, annoying website

It is a big ass sealed box so the SQ is absolutely superb. It loses power handling though. The ones i've seen were secured to the rear deck with some cutting and modifications. The other one i've seen was almost like a wall in the trunk ...

I want a blue one with sports package I have a hard time deciding since i have heard several amzing subs so far and run a Brhmam currently. i have time to figure it out though
-
I will be out of country until May so i'm out for that one too unfortunately. I've been out of the car audio market since i've been in Taiwan but i still try to keep up for when i return My friend Randy, i believe, went to that show. Do you know if he was there?
-
If it's even more sensitive than the 12" version, then it probly will. I set one up with only 350 watts from a Kicker DX700 and it still gets pretty loud. Now to figure out which amp to upgrade to for it ... I'm not paying tho so that is the good part
-
did you get one with a V6? I was planning to do one w/ that and the sports package. I am not sure whether to get a magnum, though it's one of my choices after putting one in my bro's gf's toyota avalon
-
oh well, missed out on the fun... how was it this year?
-
Welcome, i hope you and your miata are happy
-
No, that is the car i want to get. But i need to get a higher paying job first
-

I'm assuming it is the new 2003 models too huh? I would recommend about 30 or so also to get a little bit of both worlds.

I will be out of car audio until i get back to the U.S. and get a new car. I had no probs with my kodas(mid woofers only) but they have not had heavy use as of yet. The midrange sounds incredible on mine but it lacks midbass but once i reinstall it into the new car i should have it better set up to find out.

so much to look at
