    Headphones

I currently use a Sennheiser HD590, Superb SQ but open air so i can still play games with it on. Gets a little bit of distortion from my computer. Sony always makes great sounding earbuds. Sennheiser is good bang for the buck, cheap but good SQ.

What has everyone been doing lately?

Well, this week is finals as stated before. Only 2 more years of grad school Living at home so i can get some cash put together. Working on getting my car decked out. Would ask Jamie to help with my system but you got plenty to do as it is Since it doesn't seem to want to get cold this winter, will at least tape up my trunk and get some resin in there for fiberglassing after leather is put in.

    Off Season plans?

Jamie's an Ed whore School's out so it's time for me to check out Jamie's Show system. See if i can get some tips from you on doing fiberglass since you will be busy this winter ...

    I want this car

If i cared so much about mileage, i woulda just gotten a 4 cylinder. Besides, gas mileage depends on how hard you drive the car anyways. Though I doubt i would be driving like an "old grandma" with that car.

    heat sink?

It's the cover for an amp basically. It helps dissipate heat

Old school W6s still a hot commodity?

Yes they are nice, I had a couple of Hifonics SQ which were actually based off of the W6 design. I was still able to sell em even though for pretty cheap.

    First System

Arc Audio and USAmps are not budget amps, they are pretty expensive, not sure if they would fit in your budget. I don't see many if any online places that sell USAmps other than Ebay.

    First System

I got another option for ya if you are set on matching. - 350 for Pioneer 8600 - 350 for koda components shipped Acoustic Visions or at www.visionaryaudio.com - 300 for one pair adire tempest shipped - 170 for one orion audio 600D - 150 for the previous orion audio 300/2 That's 1320 so: - 180 left for box and wiring.

    First System

Once you get hooked, this is a never-ending buying hobby All the refurbs i've gotten have been very close to new condition, shouldn't have many, if any, scratches. I would concentrate most of the cash on nice speakers and subs. The amps are secondary since they don't really "make" the sound. Unless it is for show, i wouldn't bother matching amps. I'd rather just get decent quality ones especially if i was on a budget like yours.

Top 5 Component Sets You've Heard

Damm, seems like everyone's heard the rainbows in here except me. I have a hard time ranking em seven though i've heard a few sets in my time. I guess i would rank em in this order: Focal Eutopia, Koda 6/infinity kappa tweets, DEI Studios, Hifonics Zeus, Kicker Resolutions

    First System

I don't mind refurb items at all, especially if it's done by the manufacturer. The premium vs. the SE? I would do the premium any day. larger XMAX, can handle as much power, higher BL, and better sensitivity. When I have my 2 RL-p 15's installed, I'll let you know more details.

    First System

    - Pioneer premier from ebay is about 330 shipped - same orion amp = 150 - CDT CL61 components is 160 - Same soundsplinters = 459 - Ed Nine.1 is 315 - Wiring and box = 86 give or take a few bucks.

    XXX vs Brahma

XXX's retail price is higher but from what i hear, their direct price is cheaper than the brahma. They are rated at 1600 watts RMS but it is box dependent. I'd still get a Brahma over the XXX

    XMAX King?

Wel, XMAX is linear so i would say adire at the moment, but i wouldn't call their Parthenon sub conventional

    Addicted to Power

dang you're like a QVC junkie i know of. Maybe you should sell some of those unless you had the money to use up on them in the first place

I was thinking about getting leather ..

I was thinking about getting two color-tone leather seats to replace the crappy cloth in my car. Is it worth the trouble? or will it burn my butt off in the humid/hot weather in Louisiana? I was thinking maybe either two toned perforated leather or leather with suede insert... Right now they are offering 599 for the basic leather (+30 for two tone, +25 shipping, +85 for suede or +35 for flat perforated inserts) from http://leatherseats.com/ until Nov. 1 or 679 after.
