Difference in performance between MB Quart 1500D and Sundown SAZ-1500D
ESW replied to chasinSKURT's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Exactly. The SAE has made a lot of happy customers. Shame that MBQ is just a badge that is slapped on now. x2 MB Quart, Lanzar, Autotek, HiFonics, Crunch, etc, etc still sell these days but only because of their reputation from years back before Maxxsonics took over. I would've rather spent a few extra bucks and gone with the Sundown. I can't believe that people are even comparing the two. What has this world come too?!?! Ever heard the term "You get what you pay for"? Besides.....wasn't MB Quart a high quality German speaker company? Now all of a sudden they build amps that are made in Taiwan/Korea/China (no offense Sundown) with a badge that says 100,000,000 watts RMS per channel @ 4ohm! Same with new HiFonics like the Brutus that everyone seems to be thrilled about. IMO all it amplifies is distortion but then again you really can't hear it at low frequencies. Just my .02 Your speaker will experience the distortion What is ya'lls opinion on the new Diamond Audio amps?? Have they gone down in quality?? I wouldn't know. I've heard Diamond Audio play but never did have the pleasure of owning any. Are you asking because you're looking at buying that particular brand OR because you already own it? -
Thanks very much for your response. Reason I asked is because I found one locally for sale at a good price and of course I wouldn't be interested if it "wasn't" a Zed made amp. By the way.....I was looking at your pics and man do you have a bunch of goodies. I also noticed those USX amps. I have one myself and indeed they sound LOUD and clear....but not good on the power consumption.

Big 3 aquired, still having lights dim
ESW replied to thizzkid's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yeah, a BIG 3 isn't a BIG 3 without 1/0. Power wire can act in many funny ways....trust me. Keep your ground as short as possible and just make sure it's tapped to bare metal and firmly tight. Do the upgrade and then come back and let us know if problem solved. -

ESW started following 4ohm vs 1 ohm ?, Difference in performance between MB Quart 1500D and Sundown SAZ-1500D, Lanzar by Zed Audio....question and and 3 others
-
I am a little unclear as to what exact Lanzar amps were built by Zed Audio. I understand they were the OptiDrive ones but there are several different Optis. Anyone have any info and/or pics? Thanks!

Does RCA cable brands matter much with bass amps?
ESW replied to Lifted07Duramax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
IMO - No....now with high frequencies I'd say yes since tweeters can pick up any other signals that can be crossing. -
cool thought i would share

4ohm vs 1 ohm ?
ESW replied to socialstealth's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I've been very happy with my Zed Audio built amps. Mr. Mantz uses regulated power supplies and I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. BTW - Go 4ohm. -
Please keep us posted how the Big 3 ended up working for you. I highly recommend that to friends before they start spending money on caps and extra batteries.
