i bought a new zed audio amp at the beginning of may. zed was giving away free refurbished amps with a new amp purchase. i got a free us acoustics amp. i bench tested the amp as soon as i received it and it played music fine. i put it back in a box and never installed it. on june 2nd it sold on ebay for $160. the guy left me good feedback on june 12th. on august 7th the guy PMs me on sounddomain and says that he finally got around to hooking the amp up and it blows his power wire fuse (the amp doesnt have onboard fuses). i respond immediately, telling him how i tested it. i asked him to measure the resistance of the inputs with a dmm, and look at the circuit board for anyting visually wrong and to get back with me. finally, today (aug 22) he sends me a PM saying the amp is still blowing fuses. no mention of testing for a short with a dmm or opening the amp up. i feel bad for the guy but i also dont feel responsible since it left my hands working fine (if it was broke, i would have sent it back to zed myself). if it was damaged in the mail, its way too late for a claim. if it had a short warranty from zed, its way too late for that. what would you do in my situation? tell him im sorry but i cant help you or would you offer to pay for the amp to be repaired. i dont see why i should do the latter other than to protect my reputation. i would feel more inclined to do something had he not contacted me months later. ive bought a lot of amps online and i always test the amp withing a week of receiving it and certainly before i leave feedback.

when he said promotion, i think he was talking about getting everyones input on what features and rating they would like to see on the amps.

so for people that have a pair of dvc 4 ohm subs or one dvc 2 ohm sub, are yall recommending not purchasing this amp? is there a way to tell which subs might not work such as looking out for subs with a lower than usual Re (dcr)?

mr mantz or anyone, could a copy of the letter sent out regarding the minilith be posted here? i would like to hear the whole story regarding the 1 ohm issue with these amps.

xtrmeasures is a good guy. amp looks nice.

cool, i like that better. i dont really like the huge sigs and avatars that take up most of the page in this view.

they usually pop up on ebay every now and then and sell for around $200 shipped. if you liked the old us acoustics usa series, you will see the new zed amps are even better built.

i know everyone likes pictures so if you have a zed amp, lets see a picture. mine are just uninstalled pics, but i would like to see some installed pics too.

im looking at this ebay auction with 4 old alphasonik amps. on the zed website it says that zed built amps for alphasonik in the mid 80s but im not sure these are that old. can anyone help me out? this old alphasonik ended the other day, i wasnt sure about it either but it was definately older than the above ones.

what shuts amps down besides remote?

8 awg is pretty small for a nine.1, especially if you are running both amps off the same wire with a distribution block. -
