yea i have an explorer... ok i pretty much am either gonna get 2 15" sx's or 2 15" kicker L7's(the new 06 ones) either setup will be powered by either an orion 2500d or a kicker kx2500.1 taking into consideration that the box is built right and everything, which setup would get louder?
-
so basically what your saying is 2 15" MT's vs 2 15" SX's will be a waste of money becuase im not competing? 2500w for the sx's, 5000w for the mt's
-
how are SX's?
-
i was just talking to someone about those, and 950 shipped for 2 is too much IMO...for the subs im looking to spend around 600-700
-
i plan on upgrading the electrical system... what are 2 good 15" subs that can get really loud(i know the box is what makes it loud also) off of about 2500w rms (orion 2500d or kicker kx2500.1)
-
ive sat in casey's(kickin audio) jeep and doesnt he hit around 150.2 or something? when i sat in it he has 2 2500d's and 2 12's...
-
i know lol... is it true that once u have around like 2500 w rms and u add say another 2500w rms, can you tell the difference by ear? if thats true, would it be pointless to do over about 2500w rms if im not competing?
-
anyone?

im getting a job this week at home depot, and my dads gonna help me out a little....what did u have to suggest and then we can go from there...? =) like i mean dont suggest 89395893 dollars worth of stuff but i dont want cheap stuff u know...i just want something that can like play music at like 150dB's daily...not like for long periods of time, but like just when im drivin around u know?

hey im looking for some 6.5" components and i cant decide...ive been talking with some other guys from another forum, and he told me not to really spend a ton on components becuase i will be wasting money becuase i really wont be able to tell a difference for what i want them for. im not going for an A+ sq system...when i get my subs im getting 2 15" RE MT's with an orion 2500d on each...i just want loud bass. so basically i want 2 sets of 6.5" components that'll just keep up with that much bass...i dont want the bass to like drown out the mids and highs. the guy ive been talking to has like a wall of 4 15" mtx 9500s and he has like 4 sets of audiobahn components glassed in his doors up front, he said they get really loud and he loves them. i just cant decide what to get, and i really wanna order them tonite or tomorow at the latest...im tired of waiting lol...heres some of the ones ive been looking at, i havent heard all of them, i just mostly take peoples word for it. kicker rs65.2 diamond audio d661 jbl gto infinity perfect 6.1 orion p6.2(my friend has them) and today i was at circuit city and was just lookin and i was listening to the polk db6500's...they sounded pretty good i guess for the price(like 115 on ebay) but i just read a numerous reviews that said the highs are kinda harsh...and the crossover doesnt allow you to change it or something... but i really cant decide...and looking at the list i just typed, thats basically my price range(150-200 at most)...like i said im not going for a 1000 dollar set of Focal's or anything lol... but out of that list, which ones are best? also im not limited to whats on that list, make more suggestions please! lol last thing...basically all i want is loud highs(not harsh/too loud, but you know...loud enough), decent midbass(i wont have the subs for a while), and i just want them to get pretty loud without distorting. most of those components are 100w rms each, so most likely im gonna run an orion 8004 for both sets, unless they need more power then ill go from there... oh and both pair are going to be in the front of my explorer, one in the doors with the tweets in the top of the dash(defrost vents) and the other set will be glassed in the kicks. thanks!

ok. i was gonna get 2 15" jbl gtx's(old models) for like 85 shipped. problem is, theyre 4 ohm each, so that can only be wired to either 2 or 8 ohm's right? the amp im looking at is 500w rms @ 4 ohm(its a home audio plate amplifier from partsexpress.com) thats the other thing, are those amps any good? these are the 2 i was looking at: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-806 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-752 if not, any other suggestions? other places to buy em? (i was gonna run a car audio amp, but til i buy the amp and a power converter, i think its cheaper to buy a home audio amp. last question. since the amp can only be run at 4 or 8 ohm's, and the subs cant be wired to 4 ohm's(dont wanna run em at 8, not enough power) what other subs/sub could i get? dont wanna spend like over 100 or so. or, do you think the amp can be run at 2 ohm's? i just dont wanna take the chance of breaking the amp...unless i can find another plate amp that is 2 ohm stable...theres so many different ways to go here...lol p.s- im not gonna be using this setup for watching movies, for that i would buy an actual home theater sub, i just want LOUD bass in my room, its gonna be connected through my stereo reciever which is also connected to my laptop. and since i listen to rap music, i just want the bass to be really loud. not really worried about SQ, i would like decent SQ, but mostly im into SPL. i was looking at the audiobahn aw122t(i know AB is garbage, i would never put it in my car) but u think it would be suitable for my room setup? p.s.s(lol)- im also thinking of hooking up my 4 pioneer 3 way coaxiles that are in my explorer(getting components for the x) in my room. how would this sound(if i build 4 6x8 boxes and hook them up to my stereo reciever?) thanks!
-
shut up casey
-
damn...well idk cuase ill only be playing it LOUD when im home alone, so nothing else will be on cept my room...i dont know...if i do get it, my neighbor's arent gonna be happy either...theyre old lol
-
some guy on the12volt.com read the specs for that 2400w amp and said "it draws just under 10 amps at 120 volts, if the breaker on the circuit is higher than 10 amps and the other plugs on the circuit aren't already overloaded, then you should be fine."
-
is it hard/cost alot of $ to add a seperate breaker for my room? do u have AIM, it would be easier to talk on AIM lol
-
ya im saying tho, like say i got a 1500w rms sub? would that still trip the circuit breaker?
-
lmao...how would i run something that powerful? or whats the highest wattage amp you reccomend?

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=248-747 *Specifications: EP 2500 output power (1 kHz, 0.1% THD) per channel stereo: 500 watts RMS @ 8 ohms, 750 watts RMS @ 4 ohms, 1,200 watts @ 2 ohms. Output power (1 kHz, 0.1% THD) bridged mono: 1,500 watts RMS @ 8 ohms, 2,400 watts RMS @ 4 ohms. will that really power a 2400 w rms sub? (for only 300 bux)
-
wow thanks! i may just get like 1000 watt one and get a 1000 w sub lol!
