had that problem with the mini cooper... i wanted to use the stock ones, but i sold the speakers...

will it work? we tested it at 12.8v on a 1k hz tone, and it did 300w rms x 2 @ 2 ohm. its rated at 500w x 2 @ 2......that was at 12.8v tho.

what you guys think? what kinda boxes do MAW-15 or MJ-18 need? can they take more than rated power daily? heres what i have to work with. am i gonna have any issues with that much power? will be running each ma @ 2 ohm, 1 per mt. im thinkin about a 5th mt and 5th ma hk4000d too.

The box isn't sturdy enough then... im seriously thinkin about buildin a box for 2 18's, down firing, and making the top like double or triple thick, and using it as like a desk/extra large night stand lol. ill do 3/4" mdf all around, and then get some birch and put that as the second layer, so i can stain it to match my furniture. where should the port come out at if i downfire the 18s?

Floor. sorry dude, but i see where hes comin from, no way will rents let him cut 18 inch holes in the floor and dump substantial noise into the rest of the house. thats just obvious. lol. You don't need holes that big, you can mount them in a baffle and have the baffle fire into the house. Sort of a box upstairs with the bottom side facing down into the room. Mount the subs on the outside and you are set. hells ya somehow i get stuck with the small room! theres a movie theater room though...no windows....might put the 2 18's in there, see how they sound i asked him today, theres no attic above the movie theater, so that leaves out that option of some 18's IB in that room....

so your saying 2 18s ported or sealed with the 700w rms each, or multiple ones IB on that same amp? i doubt ill do IB, were just moving into this house, my dad isnt gonna let me put subs in the ceiling lol

i dont know anything about IB. could you explain it? how big of a box, etc? im thinkin about 2 mj18's, ill just keep the gains down, i think theyll be good with 700w rms each, what you think? for like 80 bux each for these 18s, i dont know what other subs i would rather run....

as the title states. i like how the xxx sounds, it gets loud, but im thinkin...maybe a 12" mt on 2500w....behind the seats, i can get like 2.7 cubes ported, should be enough for 1 12" mt right? and weight, the 05xxx is like maybe what, 10 lbs less than a 12" mt? i know the xxx has better SQ, etc. but i would probably like either one, i like just straight up loud bass. heres the xxx on a power acoutik a2400db

need like 2500w rms for the mt like 240ish (i guess?) @ 3 ohms for the pro60s. im most likely not gonna do rear fill, if i do, itll be off the HU. what you guys think? im tryin to get the amps ordered, so then i can start the box/amprack.
