thanks, i appreciate the kind words. heres where its getting a little complicated, but this didnt come out too bad. did a little bit today tomorow im gonna glass the entire rest of the box, but i wanted to get it glassed up in the corners first, let it harden (which is hard as a rock now) then tomorow ill put a 2nd layer over that while i coat the rest of the box. foamed it up first then taped it up. i used a special anti-Darrell solution. this is an inside joke between me and robin, about a fat dude that works at my job (robin used to work there) and finally, glassed

yea, that plan kind of went out the window long ago

port is officially liquid nailed, tite bond 2'd, and screwed in. its not coming out ever went a little crazy on the foam, how i screwed the top of the port to the roof, from inside the port. was a BITCH

look nice, these used to be like 18 bux i believe a while ago. -
starting to look like something...biggest port i can do...the first 2 pics were before i finished cutting the opening (it was 5" x 26") now its 5.75" x 28.25", for 162 square inches of port. with the port, the NET airspace the subs will see is around 12.5-13 cubes i believe. thats approx. could be less, could be more...

really, really likin' how this is turning out will deal with clearance problems as i go, as i did with everything else on this build, lol
-
camera was dying, had to take pics fast...hence the blurriness. lol back of the panel, tweets in.
-
they're all wired in the door panel, then 2 wires running through the car to the amps.
-
ive learned alot from previous things and im starting to build things correctly, even if i still choose to stuff 8 mids and 8 tweets per door LOL i do really like the look of the panel thus far.
-
oh yaa... this is probably my favorite part of the build. need to order 10 more mids...lol
-
i really like how this is coming out, especially since this is the first attempt at making panels. we will see how it comes out when i glass it! the lower circle, in the blue pen, is around where the stock door handle would pop out. the blue permanent marker circle is where it WILL be. pretty damn straight and lined up, some of the tweets are off by like a 16th or less of an inch, but to the eye it all looks centered. i cant complain, becuase the top and bottom of the door panel arent perfectly perpendicular.
-
im thinking of doing a dip in some how on the top as well, becuase the whole panel will be "raised" out about 1.5", as you said. i do have more room on the top of the panel, that white piece of paper in the pic above is too short, the panel has about 3-4 more inches of height than on that white paper.
-
think!
-
oh i see what u mean. theres no wood there. im just going tl glass a very thin layer in that area, over the stock panel.
-
its been trimmed alot since this pic. i will take new pics today after work.
-
what do you mean?
-
lol. i some how need to implement a door handle of some sort on this panel, to pull the door shut...ideas? would have to be at the top somewhere.
-
i knew you'd be fond of my tweets i do have a crossover for them and im not using the caps, that should make you happy! and i have an EQ too. and theyll only get like 30w or less a piece.
-
not using these mids, but heres one of the tweets compared to a 6.5" lol how it will be glassed. not sure if i wanna use the grilles or not
-
door panels...8 6.5s and 8 tweeters per door.. need to get the rest of my 6.5s...

dont know where i should place speakers in this situation...i promise i will listen to your ideas Jim and M5 LOL not looking to spend a ton, but i want a decent little system. never really watch movies much, just watch tv at night before going to bed, etc. never really going to play it very loud unless i happen to be watching a movie. anyways, this is where my tv is, and where my bed. how would i place the speakers? notice how the tv isnt on a flat wall, i have a ceiling mount and its mounted in the corner of my room angled towards my bed. the mount comes tomorow so ill get pics after i install it. but i know the L and R front speakers are supposed to be firing at you as the tv is correct? would i angle the speakers too? then how would i do the rear speakers? dont laugh at my diagram lol this is how i have the tv now until my mount gets in. my old tv, this is where the 42" will be (close to the ceiiling) when the mount gets in. notice i dont have much wall space to the right of the tv,,,,entrance to the bathroom...
