soundstream Dtower?
CrazyKenKid replied to SynCity's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
unmm i think he is asking how does this amp proform, he is looking for a review from someone who might have used this amp or maybe another soundstream amp. i have personally never used one mainly b/c i am scared of spiders like yourself! but i am sure someone on here has used this amp brand and maybe this actual model you are intersted in! from the pic it looks to be pretty beefy, and yes it would seem that it accepts 4gauge wire so you would ask yoursefl, self can this amp do what i need? or should i maybe invest in some 1/0 to 4awg reducer to ensure it gets the power it needs!! lol!! but hang tight i am sure somone has used this amp before! -

sounstream sa-164 mint and a question
CrazyKenKid replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you are asking what kind a current will the mrd-m300 pull on 14.4volts? well i think i need some more info, like how much power is it outputing or what is the ohm load. if you recal to find current you need voltage and resistance and that is ohm law! I=V/R and also I=P/V or Root (P/R) -
so should this get movied to the sundown technical? I have been looking for this thread for about 2hours now and finaly after all my looking i found it lol!! i was looking for it b/c a buddy told me rms does NOT equal louder and i was like yes and he asked me to prove it and i was like okay! give me a few minutes whihc turned into hours lol!

CrazyKenKid replied to 4000watts's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
no you can NOT get a 1ohm load! please view the link below and book mark it for future reference! and enjoy your holidays! http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=22 -
I plan on installing 2-NS15inch v1, getting powered by 2-SAZ2000's at 1ohm! in a 6th order bandpass box! and deaden my car as much as i can! then once that is all done i plan to get tl metered and see what i can do and tweek away! I also WANT to get a pair of ID horns and maybe a processor/crossove and see what happens!! my goal is to hit 150!! hopefully but we will see what happens right! but nothing is going to happen till the cold weather goes away! Merry Christmas to you and yours and happy New years also!

What size fuse?
CrazyKenKid replied to PHATBOi's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
....okay interesting you say that. current-ly (pun intended) i have 1 run of 1/0 wire with a 250amp fuse in it from front battery to rear batteries, then from rear batteries i have a 200amp fuse going to the amp! so your recommendation is to upgrade my 200amp fuse to a 250~300amp fuse? -
what amps?
CrazyKenKid replied to pitbull239's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i would also recommend sundown audio as they are very reliable and have superb customer service plus they are nicely priced! and look sexy! lol! and they do way over rated power in most cases!! please check this post out to see what kind a power you can expect to get. also worthy of note sundown amps are unregulated and all those in the link i posted are on 12v's so at 14volts you get more power! now you asked about a h/o!? this stand for high OUTPUT alternator! the h/o can output more current to your battery (s) on lower revs. plus they have superior cooling. all great systems need a great way to charge back up to full power or you will kill something!! -
or ask this guy Flipsid the guy who did the 12-18inch build! i am sure he knows the displacement.. maybe lol!! but jacob is yoru best bet!
-
for the 15inch it is .4 displacement and 9.75 mouting deth i thought the same motor was used on the 15 as the 18! but i could be wrong! and i also used 2inch beind the pole!

in my future install i want to go active with my 100.4. and i want to get a pair of ID horns. here is how i am going to set it up. 1.2khz and above to the horns 80hz-1.2khz to the midbasses so will i be needing 2 sets of rca's or just 1?? b/c i will be using all 4 outputs right so i should have 2 sets of rca's?? sorry i haven't ran active before so i am a "active virgin" lol!! so i will have some question so ANY help here would be good. my new install will be starting in the summer so i have plenty of time to think and plan to get everything right! my new install will be 2-15inch NS v1 and 2-saz2000 strapped with 2-nsb90's and 1-h/o along with the big 3 (the h/o and big 3 are already done) if you need any more info PLEASE ask! thanks in advance Kenneth

Best 1/0 Gauge cable
CrazyKenKid replied to ShagggDiesel's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
x2 but i prefer Knu wiring due to the flex and tuff jacket!! but whatever is cheaper always wins! -
So i was looking on ebay for some 1/0 plus crimping tools and i ran into these 3! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290366545106&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300369545241&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250506888778&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT and i was wondering if anyone had ANY experience with any of those 3 device used to crimp there terminals to the wires. i currently use a vise/hammer and chisel and i have been noticing my wires are stiff if that makes sense? so anyways if you have used these tools in the past please give a quick review of what you liked and or didn't like and if you would recommend it to me!
