Not really, it won't help on any of the frequencies of your door mounted driver. I disagree mainly because I've tried it, and it makes a difference. Most people might be intimidated by your SSA tech team and your 40,000 posts and just take your word for it. I think, however, that you are just against it because it's not the "proper" thing to do. Yea, there are better ways to get a better result, but this does have some effect and you can't deny that. hey man no need to lose your lid on this, about 99.5% of the time m5 is coorect in his thinking and reasoning, he will not steer you wrong or bully ppl around. he just puts his brain in motion before his keyboard! other then that we did use donald duck tape in my buddies car and he LOVED it then one night i stole his keys and ripped it ALL out, while it was dark outside and i think i must have been drunk to actualy do it all, and then a week later I asked him "how he liked that duck tape?" he siad "man i am glad i did it! i love it" and then i tossed him a BALL of duck tape and said "well it isnt' doing jack for you b/c i took it all out when you werent' looking!!" or maybe he was passed out...overall i took it out lol he didn't even catch on, but if he would have told me man i don't know i don't htink it is doing much then i would have felt like a dick and i wouldn't have tossed hhim the ball lol!

fuse question
CrazyKenKid replied to smashedz28's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
like ppl like to say fuse to the wires capability! since that wire is rated at 250amps i would fuse to 250 amps! no need to risk a 2g system due to a fire and only over a 10$ item! if I were you I would just pop over to your local shop pick up the correct fuses then tell knu to send you 2 -250amp fuses and you return the 300amp fuses then once the 250 come from knu return the ones you purchased at the local audio shop! that way you aren't out 10$ and you don't risk ANYTHING! also keep in mind you MIGHT be okay with the 300amp fuses but unless KNU gives you something with writing on it say 300 is good enough and if something happens (due to too much current and the wires jacket catches fires due to much amperage though the wire) they will cover your ass b/c your insurance company will not! lol! -
Question regaurding wiring an amp
CrazyKenKid replied to oxsign's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you do relize that a single run of 1/0 can do about~ 245Amps of current (pending on the wire) and the 4awg can do about 130each / run.. -
Question regaurding wiring an amp
CrazyKenKid replied to oxsign's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
wiat so you want to toss 2 runs of 1/0 reduced to 4awg of the POSITIVE and ONLY have 2- 4awg ground wires... -
HOLY mother! you might as well call this the saz3000v2 lol!! and rebadge the 3000 as the saz 2500 lol! jk!! but super nice job on that amp!!
-
p/s OP did you get the answer you were looking for? here is a link i found for you incase you didn't regarding strapping Sundown Amplifier FAQ - SSA Car Audio Forum and you still need to run power and a signal wire (remote)

-
lol overkill ftw lol!! plus the door shuts a lot better now! sure it is heavier... lol!! OP and rule of thumb dont' BUTT up deadener to each other provided you are going to go though with deadener lol! actualy how long do you plan on keeping the car?
-
i just covered my entire inside of the door with sound deadener lol! 3 layers behind the speaker, 2 ontop of that and 1 ontop by the window line! and on the bottom about 2 layer again! it took forever lol!
-
crap b/c i ended up using drywall! lol it happens i guess!

umm i am pretty sure those things will ACT as an incluse and sufficate any and ALL speakers... the only thing you can do to beef up the SQ is to invest in a pair of component speaker and AND sound deadener!! when i added sound deadener to my doors i was liek WOW i cant' believe i didn't do this sooner! lol! although most ppl think sound deadener for a piar of speaker isn't worth it but only worth it for component speakers! using an amp will also give you the best benifit as you are doing already! so congrats!
-
n/p man you are welcome! any time!
-
that is what she siad! and me!
-
so they are useless so to OP scratch that idea! lol! any other unanswered question you need answering? we are herer for you!
-
umm i c sounds kind a cool! coudl you use them for comps? also how much volume do they give each speaker... is this liek poor man's sound deadener? or a way around deadener?
-
wtf are those? are they like a speaker mount?
-
umm i am a bit lost lol!! if you are giong to put SOMETHING behind a speaker it WILL take up space therefore taking UP cubic volume. maybe try to draw a pic in paint...
