Electrical Quesions
CrazyKenKid replied to An-i-no's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well you can always get a new head unit or borrow one quickly wire it and see if the noise goes away if it doesn't. You can return the head unit to your buddy or back to the store and start over to find the noise again. I know with me I tried count less times to get rid of noise and then one day I purchased a brand new head unit and like magic my system is noise free And yes I even tried a RCA ground loop thing and a line driver none of them worked root issue was my head unit no way around it. -
Nice laptop as for the sub just sell the motor to me and then get the xcon sub!!!

speaker wire?
CrazyKenKid replied to icy_chris's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
umm not sure i was just going off the given amperate rating and the 1ohm load he mensioned from this site American Wire Gauge table and AWG Electrical Current Load Limits with skin depth frequencies and yes i guess length would account a bit i guess Over what length are those ratings? 12 gauge will be fine. -
speaker wire?
CrazyKenKid replied to icy_chris's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
will you notice a difference Yes b/c the 12gauge is to small and you may have an issue down the road with fire lol! look at it like this 12gauge can support 41 amps of current and at 1ohm that is 1681 and 8 gauge can support 73 amps of current and at 1ohm that is 5329 the ideal pic for wiring in the 2krms range is 10gauge it is what i used and i liked it! 10gauge can suport 55amps of current at 1ohm that is 3025 -
Cool find!!

nice~! and i love that port in the trunk! looks cool! and nice score! also is this a 12volt setup i assume? i seen the yellow and i thought about those stinger batteries that you run and i though it was 16, but then again i could also be a deka battery!
-
i thought it could be an issue with your tinsel leads... like when the sub hits the tinsel leads short out on each other? lol i don't know i just tossing an idea at you. but let us know when you find out!

What is the resistance what is the input voltage how are the sub tinsel leads any shorts also at volume 15 what is the resistance of the sub

AQ3500D to SAZ-4500D

more power = more db's i don't see why not but for the db's to be noticeable you would need double the cone or double the power. some ppl say if you double the power and or double the cone you can theoretically get 3db's with either upgrade but practically you will see 1-2db's with either upgrade. so lets look at your situation to get 3db increase you would need 7krms so to get a to get 1.5db you would need 5250rms and around 4500 would net you around 0.5 db's it is only 1krms more. it isn't a huge increase. but then again if you cars electrical sucks an amp upgrade will not do to much. so let see tell us some info about your box, your car, your electrical and your experience with db hunting and some of the guys on here will make some recommendations on what you can do to gain some db's also how much sound deadener do you have in your? -
what should i do?
CrazyKenKid replied to icy_chris's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Buy the battery don't be silly buy it for flexibility maybe get an nsb 90 or kinetic Hc2400 -

Debating over these amps
CrazyKenKid replied to cheese20323's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
AQ for sure man! -
it will be missed! it was a nice budget line of amps with an awesome amount of power
-
Happy birthday and happy fathers day also!
-
looks good and clean! keep it up!

well i thought i would let everyone know what is going on now! lol! so my install is 100% complete and let me tell you the car sounds awesome and it pounds! although it is about 2-3db louder with double the cone and power! which is cool with me. so now here is what is up i have both of my amps sold so they will be coming out and being replaced with 2-saz2500!! lol i can't wait! so with the new amps they will be 5krms at 2ohm! as for right now everything works 100% and i can't complain other then i don't think grand am's are built for db's.... lol they are crap to work on and a pain to get loud! as my other buddy is learning now as he is trying 6k and numerous box setup designs and still they aren't working out to be that much louder! he also doesn't work 65-70hours a week as i do! which is why this damn build is taking so darn long lol at any rate is done and i like it that is about all i can say! future upgrades will be 16volts, better car... and all those other fancy things! so here are the final pics as of right now!

could i keep the woofer? lol and yes a v3 is one my most favoritist subs out there!!!!!!! soo i wonder what happened to this amp!
-
okay explain something to me.. is this a 5channel amp? b/c how how were you running the sub/ and front stage off one amp? and also what does your car have for an electrical background? h/o (high output alt) extra batteries what is the impedance (resistance) of the sub big 3 upgrade any more info would be good also did you install all this stuff? or a shop
