Is this good?
CrazyKenKid replied to Bob345's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
better yet why do you want to add 200watt? it isn't going to be like OMG amazing lol! maybe spend that 200$ on a battery instead that way it will help out your 1000 and make it shine!! know what i mean! also 14volts system off/on/full tilt/burp/startup.,,, what is that 14 volts coming from? just the car being on i assume the real issue is when you are playing music and there is a DRAW on your cars electrical right! to see if your alt can keep up with your sound system or if you need to get a secondary battery. you should play the music as loud as you can and then report back with a new voltage number and go from there well not as loud as you can but as loud as you are comfortable doing -

so you want to upgrade from a 1000 to a 1200 setup? why? you aren't going to hear a difference 200watt isn't much. remember theoretically to hear a difference you need 3db and to obtain 3db you need to either double the power or double the cone area! but in real life you will need more theory is just theory and more so of a guild line. lol. as for your voltage of 14.23vdc is that at full tilt? or your foot on the pedal to 4000rpm? or what? b/c hell most ppl system sit at 14 volt with the car on nothing playing right. -
wow that is awesome! thanks for posting the pic! i don't even think i have ever seen anything like that before.. that is awesome!! premium stuff so it is 2 tube which combine at the tip? if so that is awesome! for some odd reason i got the idea there were 2 tips and once they hit each other they just expanded like made cats! lol

Where is a good place to buy wire?
CrazyKenKid replied to chainsaw's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
ppl don't like knu b/c they don't use 100% copper and i believe someone did a write up on copper vs copper clad stuff. but with that being said i have alway used knu wiring and i have never seen an issue. keep in mind knu wire is thicker then normal 1/0 wire. the argument is 1/0 copper is able to move the current faster and better without heating up but copper clad (with aluminum strands and copper coating) will heat up more then 100% copper would but knu tries to off set this difference but making there 1/0 over sized! (the kolossus is the one i am referring to) here i found the link take a look tell me what you think! also keep in mind ppl don't pound there system full tilt for 30mins plus! (which i believe is the length of time used in this study) -
that stuff sounds intense! take a pic and post it! i want to see this double barrel shot gun full of foam!
-
more port and 10 should be fine if it isn't well add more wood to the internal of the box lol
-

Gain Matching
CrazyKenKid replied to BanginGMC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
hey man i have been strapping sundown amps for awhile now and let me tell you! it is good and i have NEVER had an issue! hell i strapped 2-sae1000, 2-saz2000, and 2-2500 and for the 2500 i screwed up and had the gain well about 60% higher then it should have been and guess what they are still working (knock on wood) i have since turned them down to where they should be and wow just wow! they are great! strapping all the way! it is easy and you only have to set one amp and let it rock and roll! -
aww the melted marshmallow trick! taste good and works better lol! (expanding foam is what i am referring to lol)
-
that isn't a sealed 4-10's box in the crx is it? i didn't notice a port but i assume it is ported.. no?
-
are those digital crossovers? they look awesome!! also i love the color!!! great work keep it up!
-
also remember the cooling FINS are on the side of the amp as long as there is air flow to push the heat from them you should be good! like if you were putting the amp into a box that might be a bad idea! since the cooling fins are on the side of the amp!
-
well how much space is tight? take pic or give us some deminsions like how much space on the sides of the amp will have to breath. for me i had a piece of mdf RIGHT on top of it and i added 4 fans to keep it all cool plus they lite up blue like my sundown amps turn on light was

that statement was a statement that i used to believe which is PART of the reason why i went with 2-15inch subs in the first place! BUT when i get my 2-12's i plan to prove that wrong by getting over 147db's! (which the 2-15inch subs couldn't do in my car due to lack of space) see that everyone learns something new everyday! and some times i learn 2-5news things a day! i guess i got a lot of catching up to do

So today was a fun day! I kill both of my NS v1 15inch subs by plugging them into a wall socket! (good times) and i took some video's! at any rate it took each sub like 5 minutes plus on a wall socket 120volts at 1ohm (d2 subs) so about 14.4kw of power (via ohms law) and yes i did this b/c i am getting them reconed to 12inch subs! so with out further a-do here are some short video's! these buts were tanks!!! i am going to miss them and they will be reborn as 12's lol!! death of 2-15inch NS v1 :: MVI_1551.mp4 video by CcCrazy - Photobucket death of 2-15inch NS v1 :: MVI_1557.mp4 video by CcCrazy - Photobucket death of 2-15inch NS v1 :: MVI_1556.mp4 video by CcCrazy - Photobucket

It really doesn't but I know what he was asking
-
ya crocs are and i dont' know why my little dip shit brother was wearing them for! and no i killed 2-15inch NS v1's lol and i am getting them both reconed to 12's i am doing this b/c well lets face it 2-15inch subs in a grand am wasnt' working out so well hell i got 147db's with 2-15inch subs on 5k. the box was tiny nearly 2.5cubic per sub and ya! the 12's will work out much nicer! here take a look at hte new box design i used to be an SQ kind a guy with 2-12inch v4 mags from SI (stereo integrity) subs and zapco mids and highs, but once i got a taste for spl i never went back! and right now i am banking on the 12's being louder then the 15's b/c the 12's will be ideal in small car! (fingers crossed lol)
-
no that was Derek he was the guy who supplied the sub to wall socket plug loll you can't see me! i was the one filming! lol! during the murdering we tossed bottle caps at it and other small objects and watched them bounce off!! i got another video but it is on a cell phone of the stuff bouncing off of it i will see about getting it!
-
lol the crocs weren't me! those were my little brothers!
-
i was sad to do that to them... hell i couldn't belive they took that much power to murder!!! nearly 15kw lol stupid amount of power just a stupid amount!!! and they still put up a damn fight!
-
you never fail to amaze me!! nice work! and that wrapping looks sharp!!
-
it is always good to ask before you do! even if it seems like common knowledge!! which 2 amps are you strapping?
-
nice pics! I know from up close and person with with my 2-saz2500 they are awesome!!
-
