also what is the cubic space in that box? and is the port a slot of areo port?

Double checking amp and subwoofer wiring

not sure what your doing off hand but it sounds okay... basically if you put a 2ohm load on each terminal (since you have 2 terminals) then run the positive from each terminal to the amp and the negative of each terminal to the amp you will be okay. you will be using all 4 outputs on the amp and since those outputs are hooked up in parallel it will drop your final ohm load to 1ohm! make sense?

    NS v1 12inch screw pattern

Hey guys i am going to make a template for my sub box so i can pre drill some holes on the mounting board of my box so that way i can just toss the sub in and then use the t-nuts and screw it in. I want to pre-drill due to the style of my box and it will be very tricky to drill with the sub being there. please take note of how the subs will mount and they will be mounted inverted. at any rate i am going to make a cutout out of some steel that way i can position everything before i get the subs back from re-cone and just drop them in and away i go. Now (finally) my question is what radius is the screw holes on? if the cutout is 11inch and the overall is 12.5 will the screws be on a a 11.75 diameter? http://sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/discontinued/nightshade-12.html thanks for your help guys! Kenneth

    Box Impedance Rise.

    supporting a 2000d (electrical)

ummm interesting issue... have you check the rca from the h/u like the voltage of them? also maybe turn the gains down some just for kicks and see what happens if the amp still goes into protect and before you turn it down pencil in where they are not (where you set them with a dmm)

i don't mean to insult you but how did you set your gains? also do you have a clamp meter? maybe your subs impedance (resistance) is dropping way to low...

    Fast question about spiders

So guys i am getting a recone on my 15 to a pair of 12's, the subs in question are the NS v1. my question is how many spiders does the NS v1 normally come with? i ask b/c i will be running 2-saz2500 strapped to the 2-12's and someone mentions to me maybe i should get another spider added to the 12's so they can handle the amount of power? so my question again is do i need or shoudl i get another spider added to each sub or no would stock be enough. i plan to do a daily/ burp car but primary a daily setup application. thanks for viewing my thread and any input! Kenneth

    2-12inch NS v1 d1

Hey guys I have started a new build and have been taking some pics along the way! so i thought now it was about time to share some pics of what i have thus far! at any rate please let me know what you think, if you see something out of place please ask! this is also my first time building a box like this! it was fun! kind a lol. other then that I will be sending my 2 motors out for a 12inch recone some time very soon! I will share pics of my shipping box's (tomorrow)! I hope you guys like them!

    sa-8 enclosure

well in the description it gives you the sizes but not the slot dimensions of the box and the port length so you can't actually find out the actual tuning of the box.. but that requires work and i would also never use a pre-fab box why b/c i don't trust other ppl to build me a box especially off of ebay, but i don't mind ppl designing box's for me to build! besides a box is easy to build especially the smaller they are! for the first one with a 2inch slot i got a tuning of 37hz, with a 3inch slot about 45hz and with a 2.5slot 42hz as for the second one it is a bit harder to figure out with out the port specs b/c that cubic space given is NET (total) so you still have to subtract the port displacement. so in short the first box has higher tuning which means you lose your low ends BUT it will sound like a 10inch sub and the second box is just as bad and maybe a little bit smaller! at any rate i say BUILD one yourself and make it to FIT your car!! like for example in your car if you can fit 36wide by 17tall do it! then as for depth make it as small as possible so you can still be able to use the truck!! then use Velcro or some bracing of some kind to hole the box from moving! make sense? and if you need some help with the sub box design you can use this site! it is pretty good! http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp or this one as a guild line! http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html
