saz 2500d or saz 1500d for 2 18 fi ssd subs
CrazyKenKid replied to mrjohnsonjr's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well this is your first build so i assume there will be more in the future so you might as well get the saz 2500 that way if you ever upgrade to a pair of Nightshade v2 down the road the sub and amp will match! and you can always get another 2500!! will those subs take more then 800 it depends on how your setup goes! and your intension aka goals! trying to be loudest on your block is hard to do especially if you live in da hood! ppl hear that shyt or see you install it and bam like that it gets ripped off! lol hope this helps and if you have install question feel free to ask me via p/m or post on the forum for a fast reply! -
awesome thanks guys i will get this stuff tomorrow and do the fix! thanks for the quick reply!

Some electrical questions
CrazyKenKid replied to Lungbuster's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
hey i got a suggestion for you!! make yourself a box with a REMOVABLE port! so you can flip the port in for a burp and pop it out for daily! my buddy has a pair of 12's with a removable port and he burps 150.1db's on an atomic 7k and this is done in a grand-am 1995 plus on music he does very nice numbers! now back to you what kind a space you got in your car/suv? I know a guy who can hook you up with a very nice box! (you build it of course he just gives you the design) as for an electrical to support either of those amps you will need say 300-400ah, so maybe look into 3-4 big batteries say XS3100d for starters or something similar. and a h/o will be required say 250-300~ with 7k at on 12volts you will need like 600amps of current to support that bad boy! so to have a hell of a setup you will need a hella lot of space also! anyways that is my suggestion o ya and make sure to do the big 3, and do at least 2runs of 1/0 (plus and minus) from front to back or step up to 4/0 wire and use 8gauge wire from amp to subs! any more question feel free to p/m me or post here! -

on my way home last night i noticed that 1 of my 4 sets of comps wasn't working. so i was getting no volume out of the tweeter or the mid bass. I quickly realized it was channel 3 (front right). here is what i did: First I checked the resistance of the speakers and i got an ohm reading of 4ohm each speaker (mid/high) • so this tells me that the speakers are fine Second I check the output of the amp by putting my dmm in voltages A/C • I then compared the output of the channel 3 with the other channels and i got the same amount of output on all channels • so this ruled out my amp as an issue Next i put the dmm in ohm, and check the wires going into the amp leading to the crossover, on the amp end (trunk), and my dmm read OL (overload or open?) • I compared that reading with the rearing of the other wires and the other wires rear 4ohms +/- 0.3ohm so this leads me to believe there is an issue with the main run of wire for channel 3 (front right speaker) or the crossover is done for? what do you guys think? pull the wire out and run a new run go from there? or is there a way to rule out the crossover as the issue? see i kind a think it is an issue with the crossover b/c that speaker just for some reason cut out and my wiring is all neat and tidy and tucked away free from a spot that could cut it open but then again the crossovers... how many times do those go bad right? here is the comps i am using Zapco RB 13.2 http://www.woofersetc.com/p4966/RB132--Zapco-525"-Reference-Component-System.htm any more info you guys need let me know any more trouble shooting idea's let me know also thanks for your time Kenneth

thanks guys the system has been treating me well i can't wiat to install my 2-12's with my single 15 on 2-saz2500 i am getting 145.5db's which isn't to bad as the box isn't sealed off from the trunk yet. lol

Going from 300w to 1000w
CrazyKenKid replied to hatrix's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
going from 300 to a 1000 is over double the power! you will see a lot more SPL out of the 1000 amp! be ready for an experience when you install the sae 1000d! lol i used to be in your same spot! i went from 200 to 2000rms over night and wow! BIG BIG differences really make the sub(s) shine! -
some good news! well today i just ran some wire from the amp to the crossover and guess what it works now! so the wire must be cut somewhere. considering that that wire was the first wire i ever ran in my car a good 3-4years ago i got some good use out of it lol! o well at least the fix isn't going to cost me anything now! but i know replacing the wire will be hell b/c it is getting cold out and running new 16gauge wire under everything is always fun! if i find the break i will post a pic of it! thanks everyone for your help!
-
well are any of the ports going behind the subs if not you should be good to go
-
hey when you get a price let me know i want to order one also! ([email protected])
-
loading will not be an issue with the 5 subs? that would depend on your box! post a pic of it!
-
okay thanks guys for the tips i will do this tomorrow as i have to go to work! i hate work lol
-
crap crossovers are expensive lol. now how do i go about checking the output of the crossover? pop the dmm into a/c volts and see if i have an output? also should i maybe just run a dummy wire from front to back to elimate the wire being an issue?
-
i remember reading on this forum about a guy who didn't let the epoxy set long enough aka less then a full day and then about 30mins it popped off again due to it not SETTING long enough. i wish i could recall who it was... someone with an Fi sub and sundown amps that is all i can remember. other then that what is one more day right..? lol hell you got killer mid basses i bet!
-
let it set longer wait two days
-
so you just jumped from coil to coil then to terminal then to amp? ya that is cool. be sure to use a DMM and check the resistance before putting it into the amp! make sure to have a 1ohm final load! if you do that you are good to go!
