CrazyKenKid replied to orlandoman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i say get a bigger alt since you already have a decent starting battery and if you ever upgrade again an alt will be essential piece -

Alternator vs Second battery
CrazyKenKid replied to orlandoman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
dear mister confused man! (your sub header in your post) please state what your current setup is in your car? and what is the current specs of the alt and battery for example if you are running say 5,000-rms i would recommend 2 big batteries in the back (near the amp) and 1 big one upfront and a H/O alt to boot (this is my current setup and it works nicely for me) BUT if you are running say 1000rms just get a bigger battery for upfront no real need to upgrade the alt unless you using a honda civic whihc has a what 65amp alt stock? so please fill in some blanks as in to what you are running and what it is running in! make sense and yes Odyssey is a good name brand in my books -

-

-
Which amp would you recommend?
CrazyKenKid replied to txhouse's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
not to be a douche or anything but how about this one for 115$ ? (he has 15~ left) Havoc REV-665 85wrms x 4 @ 4 ohms at 12 volts 180wrms x 4 @ 2 ohms at 12 volts 190wrms x 2 bridged @ 4 ohms at 12 volts but from your list i would pick the jl -
hung over! story of my life! lol! but congrats on your score! also how warm does the sub get when you burp it? not at all? i would think being at 1/2 ohm and all the power you are tossing at that little guy it would get warm! and 0.1 gain by spinning the box is pretty cool!
-
nice!!! where is the port shooting? into the tire well? also have you tested with the box spun around shooting into the cabin and seats down? (sealed off of course)

Hey guys my girl friend is asking me to get her a little bass in her car but she wants to keep everything stock! which i am very cool with! the car is a 07 hyundai elantra and I have never did an install where everything is stock so I thought i would ask how do I do did it first of all and what I will need. Now i think i will need a LOC (line-output-control) is this true? I have never pulled her dash apart and it looks crazy to do. so if anyone has experience with this or knows something that i don't please let me know. next i will need to rig of a remote wire... i was thinking of just using a switch or is there a better way to do this. thanks in advances and if anyone can point me to a web site that would help me out a lot! or even a build log! either or is great! Kenneth

awesome thanks! as for a LOC i think i found one! it is simple and not complexed http://cgi.ebay.com/STINGER-SGN11-HIGH-POWER-FIXED-LINE-OUT-CONVERTER-NEW-/330486421962?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf28699ca#ht_1598wt_1139 it says it is a fixed output and in the manual the ouput is a 2:1 ratio. so if the stock outputs 10volts the LOC outputs to my amp 5volts! what do you guys think of this LOC? any draw backs i am missing? http://www.stingerelectronics.com/images/pdfs/SGN11%20manual.pdf
-
thanks man! also which way do you think is best to fire the sub. I want to fire it into the truck as i know she isn't going to be pulling down her seats to hear the bass. and maybe i will install some sound deadener in her trunk also!!
-
ya i will double check on the size of her alt and front battery if they are to small i will scrap the project as i know she doesn't want to change either of those item's
-
ported it is then. now one more question she doesn't want to upgrade her electrical so I think I should run this at 2ohm and I will do the big three to the car also what do you guys think
