capacitors for burping?
CrazyKenKid replied to matthubb123's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
16v alt for stereo, stock alt for stock electrical. or step downs well i know how to charge them and you know but... does he know, was the question! hell I knew someone trying to run 14v off of his 12v alt! ya he told him he was dumb! he though the 14s would work just as well on a 12v since 12v charges at 14.4.... -

OScope question
CrazyKenKid replied to Ktownmazda6's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
never looked at it like that... I used one because my buddy owes one and I thought it would be cool to use one lol -
hey you have to hook the oscope in parallel to your load! (load = sub) and your probe looks like this? also put the probe on 10x then turn your gain up until the sine wave looks clipped also be sure to tune with a 50 or 60HZ tone!

hey you have to hook the oscope in parallel to your load! (load = sub) you can hook this probe to either the terminals on the sub or the terminals on the amp! and your probe looks like this? also put the probe on 10x then turn your gain up until the sine wave looks clipped also be sure to tune with a 50 or 60HZ tone! make sense? -
yes lol

powering 4 sa-12's
CrazyKenKid replied to Curtis96olds's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
see, your automatically assuming i dont have the room for 4 12's.. no i dont want just 2 12's...i have 2 15's right now and i want 4 12's. i have the room and i have the electrical to back it up, so i see no real reason to go with 2 12's which would be a downgrade from what i have. fyi i have 11-12 cubes to work with.. the sa-12''s will require 2 cubes each..so i have 3 cubes for port and sub displacements, and bracing which will consist of 1 1/4 inch wooden dowels which hardly take up any space btw this is an extended cab dakota. im walling it. aww i see now what you are going to do! i guess i should have asked what kind a space you had available and what vehicle you were going into first! and if you were going to do a wall or not lol got ya now wall away! and also i did assume because you didn't tell us/me off the get go what was going on! and since you siad you didn't have room for a BIG battery in the back i assume you didn't have much in the way of room for the subs! hell isn't the hc600 like 4x6x5 size wise? -
powering 4 sa-12's
CrazyKenKid replied to Curtis96olds's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
sorry but i dont agree with your voltage statement.. cause realistically you should be able to stay at 14.4 volts constant if you have the electrical to support your system... right now im running an AQ1200D on the electrical i mentioned minus the DC power alt... meaning im running on a stock alt and i stay right at 14.4 volts even while idle. so yes i would get the 3k out of the AP at 14.4 volts once i get the alt. consider the following 3000watts on 14.4 volts = 208amps! and your alt is 180amps right so right there your system will dip! now at 12votls 3000wats = 250amps! keep in mind your starting battery and your little babe battery in the back! will your electrical be enought i would say no but we will let other people say differently -
powering 4 sa-12's
CrazyKenKid replied to Curtis96olds's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you know if you want to give each sub more power maybe go with 2 subs rather then 4 that way you can get a NICE box in with ample amounts of power and electrical to back it all up! you know i seen somewhere on here someone did a 149.9 burp with 2-sa12's... do some searching see what there setups is and go from there! you know how much air space are you giving each of those sa12's? seeing as you don't have enough room for a bigger battery in the the trunk i assume your box is WAY to small and you will be choking the Fcuk out of those subs..what kind a space are you working with? you know i burped my single 15inch sub in a 4cubic net box and got a 145.5 clamped at 2200rms.... trust me don't choke subs out it doesn't work out so well for you. -

don't get caught up in the numbers game~! just because i can give my subs 2000rms doesn't mean that all 4 of my subs need 2000rms each! trust me you don't have room and the bigger the amp you get the more batteries you will require maybe if you want to keep it all sundown maybe get 2-saz1000d or a single saz2000 which are fairly cheap jsut check the for sale section on here for an amp!! also when amp looking keep in mind if the ap does 3k on 14.4volts how much can it do on 12.8volts? realistically no one has 14.4 constant power to the amp normally around 12.5~ and sundown amps are rated at 12.8volts i believe so there power output is more realistic and not if lightening strikes! -
interesting comment you make a friend told me i should do the same thing maybe he was onto something! i will give this a try... in april and until then i will keep it low i guess. damn i wish i did not have school to worry about that way i can resolve this quickly.
