i install a system in my friends car and it has alternator whine
CrazyKenKid replied to markak134's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
8awg would be a bit big but it would still work hell 18awg might work also lol. keep in mind how small the screws are on the plate amp right! will 8 work yes will 16 work yes will 1/0 work lol yes all it is is to isolate or try to isolate the noise out of the setup! -

did you try to run an extension cord to the car so you could eliminate the dc/ac converter for making noise? also no don't take anything apart lol what ibanender was getting at from what i understood, go to the back of the belringer aka the plate amp and unscrew 1 of the screws and attach a piece of 16awg wire to that screw then screw it back in then ground that 16awg wire out on the car will this quick fix work... maybe who knows! -

holy expensive! http://www.crutchfield.ca/Alpine_IVA_D106_DVD_Receiver_p/500IVAD106.htm and http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RPPa2WOdSaV/s_113KVT696/Kenwood-Excelon-KVT-696.html i say go with the alpine since you already have the extra add-ons and don't worry about the 5v vs 4v! here is my head unit! it is very nice and slick! and this is my favorite Headunit to date! http://www.crutchfield.com/s_105KDAVX77/JVC-KD-AVX77.html?search=jvc+avx -

lol awesome install pics! thanks for posting! and with a huge trunk like that you know you could get so much more out of it lol. I know you say he doesn't like bass but you also don't need to hammer 5000rms to the sub stage. you could get him a single 12inch and put it in a box geared towards rock rather then rap! but now that the seat is destroyed lol! o well each to there own if he likes it then that is good and a job well done! p/s I love that little Kinetik HC 600! also ditch the cap and just run it off the 600hc also you could try to move the converter to rear battery and see if this fixes anything! and I wouldn't run the converter off of the cap... hell I wouldn't even run this setup but that is just me! -
nice!! i think that truck is on the main page of thier site!

lol i was reading this an I thought you were going to say something like "unhook the inverter and run a SUPER long extension cord from your house while you drive.. lol" but ya good idea i didn't think inverters were noise! but i assume they could be! -
oo nice! no need to ask what it retails for if you got it for 30 i can imagine it goes for 40-50 as it has oak on the top and bottom! but you can tell me how the subs sound in the box! lol!
-
oo mdf veneer is still MDF but with top and bottom oak on it! nice! where did you buy that from? home depot because i don't think i have seen that before there, also how much did it cost for a sheet? if you can remember off hand
-
hey isn't MDF with oak veneer used for flooring or something? also pardon my second question how does it compare to mdf? is it denser ?
