subwoofer wiring question
CrazyKenKid replied to Curtis96olds's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
so you want to wire 8 subs which are D4 subs and you want to yeild a 1ohm load? http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=4&I=42#results yes this is possible just wire each set of 4 as a 2ohm load then wire both sets in parallel to drop the load to 1ohm -

12 volt/ 16 volt system
CrazyKenKid replied to BigDaddy13440's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if you go to 16v your thd goes up i believe i read once. if your amp is unregulated like a sundown amp the 16volt will yield more output from the amp. 16v is more geared towards burps, as for daily it is do-able just not a lot of people do it because it is expensive and 12v is already there and it is easier to do. as for an alt contact DC alts on this forum (DC Rob i think his user name is) regarding 16v i am 99% positive he can hook you up on this. most ppl who run 16v have to have a separate charging system aka 1 alt for 12v and 1 for 16v as your car runs on 12v's right and 16v would blow stuff. now you could just use a step up transformer that way you wouldn't need 2 charging systems in your car. make sense? -
help with Crown XLS 2000
CrazyKenKid replied to SNIPER-92's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i c it is a 2channel amp i believe! interesting and I like the display screen. someone once told me to never believe the clip indicating light! unless you have an oscope hooked up to it you can never truly know if it is clipping or not. okay now talk to me about this temp box you have? how big is the temp box like what are the dimensions of this box also what does the dayton site recommend you use for this sub aka box size! also what are your settings on your amp? all of them. -

CrazyKenKid replied to SNIPER-92's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
also if your sub gets warm after 20-30seconds you are clipping the hell out of the amp! if you turn your gain down and it bottoms out you need to turn it down some more! -

CrazyKenKid replied to SNIPER-92's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
okay pardon me but i am a bit lost let me see if i can tally all the info up! amp is rated for 2100rms at 4ohm sub is some dayton sub rated for 500rms your sub wants 8cubics and you are giving it 2-3cubics questions is this home audio what coil config is your sub, example like D2 or D4 or D1 if it wants 8cubics why are you chocking it out with 2-3cubics? can you please share some links of the equipment in question? -
Batteries
CrazyKenKid replied to Deto1992's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
lol there is no die-hard section or XS section lol Die hard would be a starting battery and XS is a car audio battery. notice how the XS d 3100 can support a 5kwrms setup while the die hard can support a what... 1000wrms setup! also look at the rating of the xs3100 it has 115AH while the diehard has 135minutes of reserve which converts roughly to what 60ah... so with that if i had to pick a battery to use out of those two for the use of car audio i would rather pic a XS! -

o no... first thing i would do is unplug the amp completely take it out of the car then tomrrow plug it all back in again.. kind a like a reset. and if the noise is still there contact db-r regarding what happened and what is going on and get his expert opinion on what is going on.
