i believe it is the one on the distroblock! -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
maybe one amp is drawing more amps then the other one maybe one is working harder due to how the amp was made or maybe how yoursetup is or maybe your gain setttings ever .1 means something! -
amp blown, fuse now??

so you want 600rms for say and your ohms are 2ohm at the amp right so square(600x2) = 34.6 -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
what he means is put a bigger fuse like 120-150amp fuse in it and go from there. the fuse might not look dead but it could be! lol which is why he suggested to use your dmm on it! -

with this little chart! there is a forumla but i don't remember it off hand i think it is the square of the rms you want times the impedance -

lol i have no clue what happened but like i said try the other power and ground wires from the other amp and see if it turns on and if it does then it isn't an amp issue it is a fuse issue at the distro block. and for gosh sakes set your gain correctly at 37volts AC lol!! -

no clue but i know when i was playing around wiht my sae1000d amps my gain was pretty damn low and i was pushign around 2000rms at 2ohm lol! -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
lol ya i guess they could but to use an EQ one would first know how to properly set a gain with a dmm and a 50-60hzz lol now down to the issue at hand if you set your gains to 60volt ac you would be pushing that amp to nearly 2x its rated power which could blow an amp if your amp did blow. plus i bet you would have clipped the hell out of the amp lol -

well where else woudl the rca come from if not the h/u (deck) lol!! also 6volt AC = 90rms lol or lower so no -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
wtf well 60volts AC is nearly 2700rms on a 50-60hz tone and what do you mean "my input is directly from an alpine 9886" do you mean the rca's? i think i just missed something -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well if you set it to 60volt AC at 1.33 ohm you amp is outputting around 2700rms EACH but that number is when you set your gains using a 50-60hz tone -

lol and what Ohm are you running each amp at? -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i was refering to setting your gain via the use of a dmm. 37volts AC on the sub terminals with no sub hooked up. -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
lol and what did you turn your gains to? 60hz? and if so what didd you set it to 37v ac? -

and what is that output signal? -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
umm your gains are half way that is cool but you should have set them via the dmm -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
umm isn't 14.4volts at 1500 rms something like 103amps? and your fuse is rated for 100amps? -

I haven't tried that yet since its dark out here, and was dark when the amp went down. I'll try that tomorrow...worth a shot o for sure! but why don't you run out there and unplug both yrou pos and neg leads and touch them to the dmm and see what they are reading that way you can elimate if there is an issue with the distro/wiring. then you can narrow it down to either the amp, or rca's or remo err you check the remo and it si 12volts how is your remote wired? one after another or did you do it the right way and use a relay? Its too dark here, and theres minimal space around where I can get to the wires so its a huge pain. I will do it tomorrow during my lunch hour @ work. I dont think the RCA's would cause no power from the power wire... both remote wires are attached to 1 switch to turn on both DB3000s, the directly to the amps. ya other then that i don't know what is up with your amp man. it doesn't make sense to me. so if one amp isn't turning on via remote the toher one will not turn on also right? -

also try to tugg on the wire from the ditroblock MAYBE i came out some how or isn't 100% in there -

have you tried to put the power and ground wires from the working 3000 to the dead one? and see if somethign happens! and that is good you ahve at least 2 batteries to power 3krms! -
amp blown, fuse now??
CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
okay so what about the other amp then? you said you had 2 ma 3000.1d amps? if your distro block outputs 2-4gauge how are you powering 3amps? and you should be checking the wire not the terminals. jsut pull the wireS out of the terminals and touch the dmm to it and see if it reads what your battery reads! -

CrazyKenKid replied to bass_4_ever's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
so that ma amp is like 1500rms at 1ohm i believe corret? and you have a 100amp fuse on it. sholdn't you have something like a 150 maybe more? also you siad you ahve 2 ma 3000's do does your distro block have 3 outputs i assume? also if you aren't geting volts to that amp there must be an issue with the line from the distroblock to the amp or even father up the. .03volts = nothing did you use the dmm on the wire itself or at the terminal?
